  4. Pabst you are missing the point!!! (not that I am surprised) We (as POker Dealers) are institutionalized beggars and the most these f'ing bloodsuckers (casinos, prop firms etc) are doing is to allowing us to the premises to work and the money comes from (mostly) the customer/PLAYERS!! So MY loyalty is to the general public/small business etc. The Average Joe. I despise and loath corporate america! But I guess I have gotten this through already here? Now does this make me a Communist? Ask Rove :)
You see I have been working and studying to be a computer programmer all my life. I have worked for IBM, Microsoft, and a bunch of fortune 500 companies (mostly as a contract engineer) in my 27 years in the USA and I leaned their "culture" and tricks and propaganda. And boy it is EVIL. I am already 48 and I will not get a job from corporate america until I am way into SS/Medicare - you know why? "cause they are too cheap to offer healthcare today, yet most brainwashed dolts decry Universal healthcare as a socialist idea!!
    NOW TALK ABOUT TWISTED LOGIC!
So where is Healthcare suppose to come from? I have news for you, 70% of companies either cannot afford or like MOST choose to deny people their benefits (like wal-mart).
As soon as I turn Medicare eligible age they would hire me in a New York minute. So tell me this is not fucked up!
So the fact is that you think I am illogical maybe stemming from your altered sense of reality and false sense of values in America.
If you are a Christian or member of other religion (like 80-percent of all supposed Americans are) - anyone with human values and decency you are strange NOT TO decry what is going on today in the USA.

  6. ...and how easy is that you think? I have looked into that....
plus I am a dual citizen and the Feds do not like that so hiring me is their last option. Plus when all americans work for the state/ feds or some municipalities - guess what - we have Socialism and believe it or not I am not all for that. I want capitalism back but I rather see the multis go under and perish (which I belive not too far off anyway..)

Andrasnm I really think you idealize life outside of U.S. I knew few people who were constantly bitching about basically everything, moved to Europe and came back in a hurry.
Regarding Universal Healthcare, lousy it is, it's a matter of past for Europeans (hear the French screaming!).Have you ever heard of medical tourism?

    A worldwide market

What's called medical tourism – patients going to a different country for either urgent or elective medical procedures – is fast becoming a worldwide, multibillion-dollar industry.

The reasons patients travel for treatment vary. Many medical tourists from the United States are seeking treatment at a quarter or sometimes even a 10th of the cost at home. From Canada, it is often people who are frustrated by long waiting times. From Great Britain, the patient can't wait for treatment by the National Health Service but also can't afford to see a physician in private practice. For others, becoming a medical tourist is a chance to combine a tropical vacation with elective or plastic surgery.

I copied this just for you to know it's not for Americans only.

Here in Chicago there is a kind of socialist health care for some.I know few people (with properties, not poor) who were able to get the care for free! You have to become disadvantaged minority. The way to do it is to pretend to be illegal and not to speak any English.
You blame corporate America. I blame social democracy.

We are already becoming a socialist country although, some individuals turn a blind eye to it!!! The politicians to trolley for votes are all for it as long as they get elected, get their fat salaries and lifetime pensions to boot!!! Our senators and congressman has guaranteed their fat pensions will be paid to the cent----poor stupid average joe believes in the tooth fairy that social security will be solvent and able to pay all the benefits when baby boomers retire!!!
Only in America can you come as an immigrant and get SSI out of the pockets of taxpayers, get section 8 so you can live in an expensive apartment and pay just half-price. The government pays the other half out of average joe's paycheck while, average joe pays for the full price if he wants to live in a decent apartment.
A lot of individuals think it is paradise across the border. I read a number of individuals are planning to move to Canada because we don't have "free healthcare" over here. I say, good riddance!!!
Canadians pay 40% of their salaries as taxes for the dumb and ill informed.
What is worst is our health systems is taxed and about ready to fail!!! Here in Los Angeles, it was featured on the news that ambulances were being turned away because too many people are using the hospital emergency rooms (a huge number of them non-paying!!!). Imagine this scenario, you get into a car accident and get seriously hurt. An ambulance picks you up and takes you to a hospital but, they don't accept you as they are full. You may die even if you have insurance but, someone who doesn't might live!!! Considering that you are subsidizing the non-paying patient by having your healthcare premiums raised? How is any of this fair?

    >>>Quote from Pabst:

Do you support unionized auto workers who happen to be your fellow Americans or do you send 35k to Sweden every couple of years for a new Volvo. Perhaps when American consumers look at their own reflection the mirror rather than flogging at corporate bogeymen and mythical "they's".... <<<

You have to put the blame where it belongs which are the unions. Unions are too involved in petty politics to look after their members interests!!! Take the case of NAFTA. This was started during Clinton's time and continues to this day. Now, all these union leaders whining and crying now about lost jobs abroad----they should have opposed NAFTA when it started but, didn't care because they had a democrat for President so, everything was fine. The thing is, it is too late now!!! Countries who benefit from free trade like China and India and others will out vote the United States each and every time and now, we have the WTO to decide. Truth of the matter is union bosses look after their own selfish interests namely (fat salaries, fat raises given to themselves and being appointed by politicians to juicy jobs with even higher salaries). For the record, I am a member of CSEA and our president gave himself a fat 19% on his $200,000 salary while, the rank and file gets little if any benefits. Oh, they raised our union dues to slam dunk Gov. Schwarzenegger. For the tens of millions we spend on politicians----we have nothing to show for it!!!
A lot of cars made by GM, Ford, Chrysler are deficient quality wise so that, Americans do not buy them. A huge amount of the foreign brands including Toyota and Honda are made in the US yet, they sell better!!! They are more durable that is why!!!
