The Disposable American - Layoffs and Consequences.

Discussion in 'Politics' started by SouthAmerica, Mar 28, 2006.

  1. The 1992 National Adult Literacy Survey found that 21 percent of Americans are functionally illiterate while an additional 27 percent are only marginally literate. This means they are either reading at or below a fifth grade level or they are having difficulty with reading comprehension and/or computational skills.

Did you rely on the Labor Department of Cuba for those figures? The number of Cubans who hop on rafts and navigate the Florida Straights in search of freedom would seemingly belie your attempt to portray Cuba as some sort of non- repressive Communist economic nirvana.

You and other anti free market Socialists miss many important points. The evolution of American consumerism from numerous higher priced small businesses into a Walmart/CompUsa/(insert your local grocery chain) culture has allowed less fortunate Americans to purchase goods at a % of wages that would have been unheard of a generation ago. It does a society no good to have "full employment" if that same worker cannot afford essentials. That's why the ballyhooed workers in communist countries are no more than slaves. I DARE you to compare the standard of living of a retiree working at Walmart to a Cuban "professional".

In the U.S. the working poor may not live luxuriously but at least they enjoy some trappings of success. They can afford the car payment on an old clunker. They have a freezer full of chicken or pork chops, or they can eat at Mickey D's for the equivalent of an hours or less wages. They have color TV's. People in the U.S. who have a skill set no better than those who toil in Mexico or Haiti live like kings compared to those abroad. Hence, no shortage of those looking to emmigrate to these shores.

  3. It is funny how brainwashed most posters and indeed Americans are. For your information, a person who is not blindly subscribing USA style corporacy and "fuckism" is not automatically a "socialist" and a socialist is not a bad word for your information.Just ask your puppet master Karl Rove. The proper way to label the US opposition is "liberul" or democRAT. So get with the program.
And how ironic and funny - the US fuckism is defended on ET where most jerk-offs are "daytraders" mostly due to Corporate America finding them absolutely unemployable and useless. Why defend the hand that does not feed you? You will never get that hedge fund job no matter how much corporate ass you might be kissing.

Uhh.. yes, and the school systems in the USA are illegally given Federal money and then are required to adhere to federal standards which include enforced paganism and enforced mediocrity. These centrally planned programs and systems do not work anywhere and really only prove how much damage leftists can do when they are given power. It will take the US decades to unwind the garbage that has been foisted off on the citizens of the US by leftists, assuming we can keep them out of power long enough to do it.

  5. I must command you for using the proper slur world from the victorious Rovian right, "Leftist" so Lets erase all the things Roosevelt has done and just kill the poor people who do not make 50k per family, right?
For your information there is no emphasis on education in the US. No one cares how educated you are. When they must pay you a good salary and benefits it is cheaper to outsource or just ship in legal or illegal immigrants. That is how your brave new world under corporate Fascism sorry err.. "Fuckism" works. After 35-40 if you want to work and have a decent white collar job you are fucked. Prove me wrong and leave daytrading and get a middle manager job!

Why defend the hand which WILL NEVER FEED you?
Why defend the hand which MADE YOU TO LEAVE YOUR HOMELAND?

  8. Komarade Cesco you wild and crazy guy! For your information I only defend social democracies like Holland, Britain, Ireland, Norway, Luxembourg, Germany etc etc. They live rather well and happily! Rovian propagandists try to put this group en masse with France into the camp of neo-Nazi eurotrash freeloader Commie pinko intellectuals while painting the picture of Romania, Hungary and your country as the new Europe All the while the countries like Hungary hate Americans and all we stand for. They are with Old Europe.
P.S. what really made me leave Hungary is my overbearring asshole parents my Karma gave me :)

I suggest you stay in Europe and live the life of an obedient, obligated socialist. I'm able to "live well" in America on my own dime. I have zero social conscious.

  10. This is great - the ditto heads and defenders of the Empire tell me to go back or stay there. How very original? Well for you information I am already here actually I have lived here longer than in my Birthplace Hungary. 27 years versus 21
I have a wife who is still for some reason in love with this place.
In her defence she is rather new - 7 years. She is about to turn any month now. My daughter was born here.
Also this was a good country and I might wait and see what happens in the 2006, 2009 elections. For your information you are a minority most Americans who I admire and love want job security, living wages, 3rd parties and no more wars in the name of Corporate fuckism. So go back to listening to Rush and never you mind when and ever if I leave the US. It is none of your F'ing business! I like to change this place for the better. That is real patriotism not your empty demagoguery.
