I DARE you to compare the standard of living of a retiree working at Walmart to a Cuban "professional". In the U.S. the working poor may not live luxuriously but at least they enjoy some trappings of success. They can afford the car payment on an old clunker. They have a freezer full of chicken or pork chops, or they can eat at Mickey D's for the equivalent of an hours or less wages. They have color TV's. People in the U.S. who have a skill set no better than those who toil in Mexico or Haiti live like kings compared to those abroad. Hence, no shortage of those looking to emmigrate to these shores.
