Unvaccinated children even face greater risks from the BA.2 Omicron variant. Underlining the importance of getting children vaccinated. Unvaccinated children face severe risks from Omicron BA.2 subvariant: Study https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/e...evere-risks-from-omicron-ba2-subvariant-study
I wonder how many children lost a parent, sibling, or grandparent that were not vaccinated during the Pandemic, and how many of those children had a decline in their mental health ??? Rhetorical question because it was already answered in an earlier thread. On a personal note, I know several children that lost either a parent, sibling, or grandparent to Covid. Those kids are still struggling "mentally" with what happened to their families. The person they lost was not vaccinated. wrbtrader
You'd need to compare that to children who lost parents, siblings or grandparents to all other causes as well to see if it was significant. Otherwise, you're pushing a narrative. I lost grandparents when I was a kid. It was sad. I got over it and lived my life.
It's already been compared and they have the results. Also, I'm going to assume they will continue comparing considering we are still in a Pandemic that has not yet been declared an Endemic. Simply, too many people are still being Hospitalized, ICU Admissions, and Deaths due to Covid. Most of them (a.k.a. primarily) are not vaccinated and many of them have children...no narrative. 1 out of 500 children in the United States has experienced COVID-19-associated orphanhood or death of a grandparent caregiver. There were racial, ethnic, and geographic disparities in COVID-19-associated death of caregivers: children of racial and ethnic minorities accounted for 65% of those who lost a primary caregiver due to the pandemic. Here's something you can spend a little time educating yourself...how many of those in the United States that were not vaccinated and orphaned a child they were the caregiver for...Answer: ??? How many of those children needed professional counseling after losing their caregiver...Answer: ??? From the article... In a news conference, Kathleen A. Ethier, head of the CDC’s division of adolescent and school health, said the survey results underscored the vulnerability of certain students, including LGBTQ youth and students who reported being treated unfairly because of their race. And female students are far worse off than their male peers. “All students were impacted by the pandemic, but not all students were impacted equally,” Ethier said. ---------- I do not know how many were LGBTQ youths that are struggling mentally in this Pandemic. I too lost grandparents on one side of the family when I was a child and lost grandparents again when I was in college on the other side of the family but not one of them was due to Covid nor were we in a Pandemic. Yet, the Covid Pandemic has caused the following for children that have been orphaned, they have data about such too and they have a name(s) for it too: Children’s lives are permanently changed by the loss of a mother, father, or grandparent who provided their homes, basic needs, and care. Loss of a parent is among the adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) linked to mental health problems; shorter schooling; lower self-esteem; sexual risk behaviors; and increased risk of substance abuse, suicide, violence, sexual abuse, and exploitation. wrbtrader
Its hard enough understanding what the heck you are talking about under normal circumstances without having to circumvent your blocking of posts. Seriously, if you're going to reply to me all the time, why don't you just remove the block so we can have a dialog?
Stop quoting me while you're being blocked and I may consider removing your intentional ignorance off my block list. Other than that, my message posts are very detailed, and statistically relevant to this thread that Covid in fact does hurt children...after hospitalizing or killing off their caregiver. If you disagree (nothing wrong with that)...please show counter statistics or move on. Also, I've posted statistics on both sides of the camp for comparison in another thread...Covid Orphaned Children versus Children not orphaned in the Pandemic... You don't need to be a parent nor rocket scientist to understand that children losing a caregiver will have longer lasting adverse impact on their mental stability and quality of life, especially the ones that must be taken in by friends or family elsewhere while the children grieve for their lost loved one. On that note...a elderly couple (72 years of age) down the street from my home are now the caregiver for their three grandchildren that were orphaned in France when their parents died from Covid... The kids are not adjusting too well in a new country (here in Québec, Canada) after leaving everything behind that they knew in France. In contrast, a child that wears a face mask in school or has no in person schooling for several semesters/quarters are less impacted (I didn't say not impacted) because they didn't lose their caregiver. wrbtrader
More orphaned children ) see photo below that are now Covid Orphaned Children in Los Angeles, California... Just in case your curious, Florida, has nearly 8,000 children who have lost a primary caregiver to COVID—the third-highest number nationally, behind California and Texas. One single state with 8,000 Covid Orphaned Children...heartbreaking. I wonder how many of them are now homeless teenagers or teenagers now the caregiver for younger siblings ??? Rhetorical question...I know the answer to that question above too. wrbtrader
