Children aren't usually vaccinated against Influenza. And the Flu absolutely killed as many children some years.

How many kids died from COVID, GWB? Can't answer? Won't answer?

Yet the Covid-deniers will ramble on and on about how Covid doesn't hurt children. Covid has killed more children on the face of the earth than all the other childhood diseases combined in the past two years.

Omicron and children: Pediatric hospitals in parts of U.S. filling fast

ndeed, several studies, including a pair published this week from Scotland and England, suggest omicron is sending fewer people overall to the hospital — welcome news. But public health officials have been on high alert about one group, children under 5, who are the last group ineligible for vaccines in the United States. Earlier this month South Africa reported big jumps in hospital admissions for that age group. The accuracy and significance of the South African data is unclear, but on Thursday, the United Kingdom released data showing a bump in admissions for that age group, too. Hospital admissions ending Dec. 19 were at 3.64 per 100,000 for children ages 0 to 4 — three times the rate for those ages 5 to 14.

NY Dept of Health warns of rise in child COVID hospitalizations

Pediatric admissions in the city have risen four-fold from the week starting December 5, 2021, to the week starting December 19, according to the bulletin, which did not quantify the actual number of children hospitalized. The DOH did not immediately return a message seeking the number of hospitalizations. About half of the children hospitalized were under five, and therefore ineligible for the vaccine, according to the notice, which encouraged physicians to continue to promote social distancing and wearing “a well-fitting mask” among their younger patients.

The risk of COVID to children is nearly zero.
The parents of these children are a much greater risk than the virus.

Unless you and your child is living somewhere in the states that Pediatric hospitalization has risen 4x - 10x and/or the Pediatric hospital is at capacity in which they need to use an air ambulance to send the child to another hospital...
    • Simply, the risk is not near zero. Covidiots that say it's zero risk are intentionally stupid nor do they have any children living at home with them.
Delta is still King in the hospitalizations whereas Omicron is now the King in mild symptoms that do not result in hospitalization.

Further, there's the disruption in the life of the parents of a hospitalized child with severe Covid. For example, the parents obviously can not go to work during the child's hospitalization and then the parents must care for the child when the child is released from the hospital...

Due to the fact that a large percentage of children that are recovering at home from a severe Covid infection after being released from the hospital...the child has developed other medical problems.

Yeah, parents are at much greater risk than their children but that then implies that parents with children should get vaccinated as a protection layer to their children. Yet, fully vaccinated Parents is still no guarantee that it will protect their child especially when their child is around others that are not vaccinated.

Do you want to know what Parents are experiencing as their child develops a severe Covid infection ???

There were early reports out of South Africa to the effect Omicron was tough on very young children.

Yet... Covid has killed more children over the past two years worldwide than all the other childhood diseases combined. While the CDC information shows that there is not a single medically proven death of a child under 16 associated with Covid vaccine in the U.S.

    Admissions Among NYC Kids Soar

More troubling than the numbers themselves is the population among whom there has been a "striking increase" in admissions as of late: Children.

Pediatric hospitalizations are becoming an increasing point of concern as well, according to data Hochul shared Tuesday. COVID admissions for kids are now up to 184 statewide, 109 of them in New York City. Two weeks ago, there were 70.

Dr. Mary T. Bassett, the state health commissioner who suffered a breakthrough COVID case last week but was masked, 6 feet from the governor in Monday's briefing, said pediatric COVID hospitalizations have doubled in the last three weeks. In New York City, they've quintupled in that time span, she said.
