    Perhaps, but the difference between the two is vast. 8.8% is far better than any western economy, and coming off a 14 print, that's one hell of a CAGR.

    But what do I know, I'm just a Kremlin Lover, right?

    Huh? Russian GDP in 2022 is projected to drop 8.8% to 14%. Drop. Not increase. And that's by Russian estimates.You are claiming that 8.8% drop in GDP is "far better than any western economy"? What are you, high?

    No, I'm pointing out that a 12.4% is better than a 2.7%. Even with such a drop, the Russian economy is still massively better than growth in the EU. This is an EM vs developed, but still. That's a lot better than I could have imagined.

    And if the previous year was 20.4% or whatever, the 2 yr CAGR is even better.

    12.4% of what is better than a 2.7% of what?

    Russia's economy was pathetic as it was. It had the GDP of Spain while having a population of France and Germany combined - and even that GDP was all resource-selling-based, like a third-world country. And now it is going to contract hugely. While EU's GDP grows. And you are claiming that as some kind of "win"? That's pathetic.

    If I understand you, you are saying the forecast is 12.4% for y/y growth in GDP. You are also saying the EU is 2.7% growth. So if correct (what you posted) then yes, I think 12.4% growth is better y/y than 2.7%. Further, the 2 year CAGR is better as well.

    The decline is much greater (which is what I'd expect). But 12.4% growth is nothing to piss at.

    As for the EU "growing", I have my doubts - it is in for a real zinger. But we can revisit next year and see who was correct!

    It is not pathetic, it is just how stupid Russians are. Putin can tell them anything, and they will all believe him. They will never question any pro Russian propaganda.
    40 countries are evil and Russia is "respecting human lifes, trying to be peaceful, obeying the law( of Putin)"...
    Russia is completely cut of from media and news from outside Russia to"protect" the Russians. ROFLMAO. Russia is the new North Korea. With the difference that the majority in North Korea understand what is really happening in their country.

    I lived there for several years, which I've said before. But I'm not Russian, and was born and raised in the United States where I've lived most my life.

    Does visiting Italy make me Italian too? How about Germany? I've been there a lot. Oh oh! Maybe I'm Polish because I lived some time in Poland, and also a piece Puerto Rican since I lived there for several years as well! That's gotta be it, right?

    FCOL. Reading comprehension.

    This is what I wrote:
    ==========================

    Russian GDP drop in 2022, according to Russian Economy Ministry's forecasts, will be 8.8% to 12.4%.

    Europe's GDP growth forecast for 2022 is 2.7%.
    ==========================

    Do you understand what the word "drop" means? I even, very helpfully, pointed it out to you again:

    And you still read it as the opposite. Biased, much?
