The bulk of Russian domestic air travel has been shut down due to the inability to do maintenance on the passenger planes -- a large number of them stolen western planes where which they did not return to the leasing companies. Russia's new plan is to have foreign Kazakh airlines fly their domestic routes. It's amusing to think that Russia believes this will work for more than a short period of time. The immediate response from the West will be to put the Kazakh airlines on the sanctions list -- denying them parts and maintenance assistance. It will be just a matter of time until they are grounded as well.
