The Decaying of America.

Fact: Timothy James McVeigh was responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing that occurred on April 19, 1995. The bombing, which claimed 168 lives, is considered the deadliest incident of domestic terrorism in U.S. history.

McVeigh was raised in Western New York State, being born in Pendleton (near Buffalo) and receiving his high school diploma from Starpoint High School in Lockport, New York. McVeigh lived with his father, a devout Roman Catholic who often attended Daily Mass.

    SouthAmerica: Reply to version 77

Right after the Oklahoma bombing in 1995 - the first thing that the American mainstream media did was to point the finger against the Arabs, and for a few days they were dragging Arabs back to the US for questioning. The Arab communities in the US were under attack, were demonized and so on….

Ups, we made a mistake – it was not an Arab that did the bombing in Oklahoma it was a clean cut American young man from the Buffalo area in New York State – and what did he used as his weapon of mass destruction? Fertilizer, lots of fertilizer.

Let’s see what Americans would have done regarding the Oklahoma bombing if they had overreacted in the same way as they have been overreacting regarding 9/11.

First, they would have attacked the entire area around Buffalo and bombed them from the air into little pieces destroying their infrastructure including electric power, water system and so on – then the Air Force would have dropped the mother of all bombs on all the farms around the Buffalo area to destroy their weapons of mass destruction (the fertilizer that they use for farming)

Since McVeigh and his family was Catholic – in the next step they would have developed some kind of angle to make a connection of his violence in Oklahoma to his religion and after that they would have demonized all Christian religions including Catholics, Protestants, and so on…. Just for the hell of it.

The next step would have been: throw all Christians from that area around Buffalo in prison and start torturing them to find out where they are hiding their fertilizer and also to find out if there were more people such as Tim McVeigh around that area.

The above scenario sounds crazy, stupid, and a bunch of non-sense right?

But, that is exactly what has happened regarding the current Iraq War.

The situation has been so pathetic regarding Iraq that it took almost 5 years for the American mainstream media to figure out that Osama Bin Ladden is a very devoted Suni and Al Qaeda is a Suni organization.

I started making that point on this message board a few months ago and suddenly for the first time I started seeing the American mainstream media making that distinction. A light went on “Osama Bin Ladden is a Suni” and “Al Qaeda is a Suni organization.”

It seems to me that until recently the American mainstream media had not made that simple connection.

In the example above, by not making that distinction from the beginning it was the equivalent of someone doing some nasty act of terror on behalf of the Catholic religion, and the overreaction been against all sects of the Christian religions.

It would have been a piece of cake to demonize all Christian religions in the same way that the US government and the American mainstream media has been demonizing Islam since 9/11.

Let’s see what we can say about the Catholic Church and violence – The Crusades (about 10 of them) The Inquisition, the war in North Ireland between Catholics and Protestants – The church’s position regarding slavery over the centuries and so on…

Now, the United States want to start another war this time against Iran, and very soon Iran a Shiite country will become part of Al Qaeda network. I can see Dick Cheney on television saying to the American people that everybody in Iran also belongs to Al Qaeda and they have a direct connection to Osama Bin Ladden's terrorist network.

I can picture Dick Cheney on television trying to really piss off Osama Bin Ladden, by spreading a rumor that Osama Bin Ladden is a "Shiite" when they go on into the next level in trying to start this war against Iran.

I have only one thing to say to you “Version 77” if you hate so much the Arabs and you are so in favor of the US government policies regarding the Middle East – In my opinion, you should put your money where you mouth is and you should enlist yourself in the US Army to go and fight in Iraq all these bad people who make you so afraid of them.

Based on your posting I can see that you hate the Arabs, and you are afraid of them because they are going to get you.

Please do something about it. Enlist yourself in the US Army – they need anyone that they can put their hands on to send them to Iraq – and go and fight for what you believe in – unless if you are a coward.

SouthAmerica: On Sunday, January 28, 2007 The New York Times published an article on the business section – “The U.S. Is Losing Market Share.”

The article said: The United States share of the global gross domestic product has fallen since 2000, but China’s share has risen by almost half.

U.S. share of global gross domestic product:

    Year 2000 = 30.8 percent

    Year 2006 = 27.7 percent

  4. America's decay is on a human level. Our citizens as a group are spoiled and soft. Nearly 20 years of supersizing and the gluttony that pervades has caused Americans as a group to be the most obese out of shape country in the world. Just travel overseas and you'll see that a fat or semifatso is a rarity, while here the gluttons wander mindlessly in their gasguzzlers to the next supersize. In Europe the cars and portions are much smaller. Why in the world we need personal transportation that weighs twice what everyone else in the world is driving is crazy. It is often said that Americans are hated because of jealousy, I say it's because outsiders are noticing what a bunch of soft and spoiled slobs we have become. Our easy life and gluttonous ways I believe are numbered. Mother earth , the laws of nature as well as way the Market place works will always correct anything that violates them for too long. May the good Lord have mercy on us all.

ps. On the bright side, an innovative major poultry producer in my home town has created a chicken -burger that has 90% less fat, 80% less calories and tastes better than a beef hamburger. I was fortunate to be one of the first to try one(awesome flavor). It should be hitting the supermarkets next month. Trust me fellas, this thing is going to be the next food craze. Go long the chicken-burger if you can!!!!

During the same period year 2000 to 2006 the global share of gross domestic product has increased for Brazil - but not at the same rate as for China.

The Brazilian economy is on its way up - and the next decades are going to be even better.

  10. I remember reading some articles lately that China and Europe
are also on the rise as far as being overweight.

It won't be very long before the whole world is fat. Except for the
starving African's of course... Their children will still be dying at the
    rate of 30,000+ a day...:(

(And to think we worry about fat people)...

P.S. Where I live, the people were rated as being in the best shape
out of anyone in the USA. Surprised the heck out of me...

We have a new fast food restaurant that just opened a few miles
    from here.

It's called "Fat Burger". The fat will be getting fatter...:(
