The debate on gun control is over

Discussion in 'Politics' started by Tsing Tao, Jun 2, 2020.

  1. E.T. politics is 'the place to fuck around' . . . . . . I like that.

But you do seem to become unhinged whenever someone says something other than what you like to hear and it's little time before you resort to name calling and insults.

Show him some of your deep wisdom and political insights.

Police violence against unarmed suspects is usually related to the presumption that the suspect is armed. Hence the premise of the title of this thread is flawed.

Better gun control would actually reduce police violence and reduce protests and riots. Gun control would create a virtuous cycle.

Not to mention gun control would reduce the dangers of being a police officer.

  3. I have written here many times over the years that I do not own a gun and haven't held or fired a weapon in many decades. I don't hunt, have never felt the need to own one for self defense. I am well aware of what a gun can do and have seen, up close and personal, the results. I have many friends who own guns and have license to carry. I have had no issues with gun ownership other than the lack of training which should be a requirement. So what does all this lead up to?Yesterday, for the first time in many years I held a weapon in my hands, actually quite few weapons, handguns, shotguns and rifles. When a guy like me is now seriously considering gun ownership, something has changed and quite dramatically. So yes, whatever the debate was on ownership, and more to the point, the need for ownership,is over. Completely and undeniably over.

Just because you want me to be unhinged and jump in the fray like a little "me-too" every time someone mixes it up with me doesn't mean I'm unhinged. I'm a little too seasoned and have been in too many mixups in real life to be bothered by keyboard warriors such as you or him.

Prove me wrong, Spike. Start a thread and keep a discussion going that is thought provoking. Lets see if you can.

Says the guy commenting in a thread of someone he has on ignore and is unable to see the actual context of the thread to know what the premise is in the first place. Humorous.

    And so on.

It's just that FOX keeps dwelling on the looting.
