LOL I used live at that news stand across from Fabs and next to the Greek/Israeli place (and the poor dude died of a heart attack I think they still have his picture up there) ....I hope the remodel goes well. And that Pizza Slice place on the corner is fairly decent....which has been every thing from a Jazz club to an Italian rest I'm surprised that you don't like La Frite I've always liked that place....except they did blow chunks on a Croque Madame the last time I was there for brunch How about Marmalade? Edit: Hagpop? I think or something like that....I forget.
The Hungarian place is right across the street from that ancient pool hall and next to Guitar Center.....on the South side. Very small place...easy to miss.

housing hasn't bottomed imo, I sell real estate. There are buyers but many are sitting on the fence while this incredible inventory of homes builds up. There is a lot on the market, but alot of it is total junk. It just weighs everything down, just a normal market cycle. It's pretty fucked up though, it will get better I think end of 2009 we will see a rebound. Prices are still too high, sellers are absolutely fucking not living in reality where I am. I have been writing lots of decent offers lately and these morons will reject or counter back unreasonably. There is still quite a ways to go.
Where do you live? Housing has not even downticked in Chicago proper. No one is willing to come down on prices.
^that just means they are bagholders I live in chicago suburbs house prices have dropped at least 20% from the peak, and they are not even all that liquid right now which means their true price is probably lower.
chicago, the city ,doesn't usually get hit as bad , compared to the national avg in these real esate pullbacks
