Indeed, cheers to all. In the end this is a lonely game and sometimes a bit of shop talking, even if there are disagreements and some spilled beer, is quite welcome, especially when you have quality participation which I think this thread ended up with in spades from all sides.

  2. I'm wondering if any traders practice mindfulness meditation or some of the more "nontheistic" Buddhist techniques aimed at recognizing one's complex (and impersonal) emotional tendencies...many of them aim to redirect attention away from those overbearing feelings/emotions/sensations we all experience so they can be viewed and responded to more wisely...can these techniques be applied to the often intense world of trading? It seems so.

I've been practicing meditation for 4 years now and have seen some great benefits toward how I respond to disappointment in the market, but the technique is definitely a life long endeavor, not an easy solution to depression.

Anyway, just curious if anyone has tried applying meditation to trading.
