Can't argue with the ignorant. Seriously, just follow the medical guidelines, there will be no need to continue over-reacting. Unfortunately, that's too late as you now see it because those like you had the initial reaction and now look where we are today when it could have been avoided by not having your attitude as the initial reaction. Just cross your fingers that Covid-19 doesn't mutate or a vaccine is developed prior to such. If that happens without a vaccine, the young and healthy will be worry by more than just a bad cough or bad congested chest. By the way, I was quarantine twice in the fall of 2016 after coming out of an almost 2 month coma while on life support from another illness much more deadlier than Covid-19. An illness I should not have survived. I fully understand Covid-19 impact on the body, mental, economics and all especially while in rehab for many months afterwards from a much worst illness. Hell, two people in nearby rooms in the ICU died from the same illness...a 22 year old and a 35 year old...both with family & children. Simply, you don't know me nor know what I understand about illnesses like this. Reminder, many in Italy had your attitude when they weren't prepared to manage the situation when the illness escalated. Seriously, do not underestimate these things...you don't want to see your country turn into another Italy or China. Morgue so crowded...bodies being stored in the hallway of hospitals. They were not prepare for it and I don't think you're prepared based upon your attitude. wrbtrader
Looks like the herd is getting thinned no matter what. Still I agree that with the people that say the panic is worse than the disease. Shutting down 10s of millions of people from working is probably going to do way more damage than if we just ignored the virus.
They had no choice...too many people demanded the government take action to prevent the spread. You can't demand such and then bitch about that many people out of work in which many will just work from home, others financially compensated for the lost work...people will just adapt. My point, much easier to adapt to lost wages than to illness or worst as in a death of a love one. Simply, no winners...nor right or wrong...just a situation where you're demanded to minimize the health cost of those that voted the government into office. Seriously, when the doctors and nurses don't have enough equipment to deal with the illness... You gotta shut it down for awhile until the supply catches up with the demand. Anyways, politicians are saying they rather hear they over-reacted than under-reacted because the latter is much worst in the long term and you can not wait for natural immunity to develop (could take 100 years) nor wait for a vaccine. The thing that sucks about Pandemics...its ever changing. Social and cultural reactions determines if there's a over-reaction or no reaction as in just let nature take its course even if you become a victim too. Survival of the fittest...right ? wrbtrader
I didn't see anyone making that demand except the people that are covering their ass should the SHTF. Reminds me of 2008 when they said If we don't bail out the banks and insurance companies to the tune of 700 billion(or whatever it was) that America was going to completely collapse over the weekend. But it's done now. I guess no real point in arguing over it. The ship has sailed and we're all on it.
We will know. When we see what happens in these little shithole countries that got it. Any country where the average person is making less than $2 per day I assure you is not self quarantining. Nor do these countries have the resources to combat it. If they end up with no higher a death toll per capita than the US, we'll know it was all a fucking hoax. *edit Pardon my french
Switzerland basically told its banks to give huge amounts of unsecured loans to businesses in trouble due to corona (but otherwise sound), with the first 500k guaranteed by Switzerland, and above that 85% guaranteed by Switzerland... Loans with long duration and low rates... details are yet to be seen. Imagine what happens to US Stock Exchange if Trump announces something like that on the weekend... I would not rule that out. I reckon, this weekend might not be good for shorts as it has been the past few weekends... Corona News will be very bad with more deaths in Europe and US. and more lockdowns and so on.... But Fed might actually "bubble up" more effective this weekend... Edit: and even if sunday open is low... remember the trump tweet on china trade that saved the day/week a few weeks ago before monday europe open. We might see such an bullish black swan... just my guts... but i've been right before...
Looks like you'll need to read it again for the point...cut down the projection and persnickety reactions and maybe you'll find it.
