The cure is worse than the disease

  1. Can someone specify exactly what is the situation is here? Don't refer to numbers, I don't trust them. Tell me the situation in abstract terms.

    Opioid (fentanyl) in Canada

Nearly 14,000 people in Canada have died from opioid overdoses in the last four years and more than 17,000 have been hospitalized in what officials say is a mounting crisis that shows few signs of relief.

Because gf got back from Singapore right before that shut down, 2 weeks later I was ill, not badly didnt think much of it, 2 weeks later on all 3 girls I’m seeing have it,despite them having zero contact with each other, my kid, her bf and 1 other friend, huge spike.

Outside my group I only know of 3 people with it, mate at client, girls ex husband in London, mates mate, too coincidental formme to know so many.

Simpest solution being, ME infecting everyone lol

See. We're destroying the economy, stock market and the American Way of Life, so we don't max out the healthcare system. That's all this is.

Solution is to build MASS QUARANTINE CENTERS in each State and make ventilators. Then let everyone live their lives. We're all getting Corona at some point.

Should we implode America and our way of life, to avoid building 2 million ICU beds? I say yes. More interesting to watch everyone and everything go to hell. Grab the popcorn.

Much cheaper to spend that 1 Trillion bailout on mass quarantine centers then Airlines and Casinos.

The difference is you choose your addiction and you can get treated for it, unlike the virus in the time of epidemic.

Thats why you lock away the old and the sick it might effect, if you lock away everyone it’ll stull get to these people, if we dont lock down let it spread then it’ll be burned out in 2 months. Ie everyone out will be immune, nobody to spread it.

With lock downs itll drop off, then spike back up eventually, so another 2 months locked diwn then it will repeat for years till everyone has it.

Do you want the old and sick locked down for years wasting whats left of there lives.

Logic please, not over reacting, libtard BS!

I think " The politicians are doing what their electorate wants, as evidenced by the fact that the politicians who took early, decisive action are being praised by their voters and the ones who tried to minimize it are being punished." (that's the part of my post that you cut off when you quoted me, in case you forgot), is a pretty concise description of a constitutional republic, no? What exactly is your point again?

If you've decided to reduced a pandemic to your oh so clever combination of the word "liberal" and "retarded" then "logic" is clearly not something you're going to be able to recognize let alone actually think through. I've had a lot of intelligent conversations with people more conservative than me over the years (and more liberal). I've never been able to have an intelligent conversation with someone who felt compelled to use the word "libtard". Thanks for at least signalling your intellect level to the rest of us.

Even if just letting the virus ran its course was a practical solution, that is a political suicide. Old people actually VOTE, not to mention that the House and Senate are both freaking old.

"The average age of Members of the House at the beginning of the 115th Congress was 57.8 years; of Senators, 61.8 years, among the oldest in U.S. history."
