Never thought much about Fisher till now, other than he is the only "known" money manager I have ever received unsolicited junk mail from (think they come showing Beverly Hills, CA return address) as well as his TV commercials. Why does he need to use the hard sell I thought.
What he actually does exceedingly well, in fact the only thing he does well in my observation of his organization fairly up close (knew someone very well who worked there), is sell. Relentlessly. This is now many ago, but at the time his organization had 4 people doing any investment research or decision making at all, one of which was him. And probably 500 people doing sales. That pretty much says it all. Ironically he was a master at building and running a sales organization but not great at in-person sales or public speaking himself. And he's always been an asshole, the people around him just managed to keep him from stepping on his dick in public up to now.
Probably the very best thing about people like @raVar, all the permutations of @volpri, and pretty much anyone else who uses the word "snowflake" in anything but an ironic manner is how much of a snowflake they actually turn out to be. Apparently tough guy @raVar just wasn't tough enough to even read the words I type without being "triggered" so he had to block me! Amazing how much projection you see out of these folks.
