In today's politically correct bullshit society one can not make any jokes about sex, or the other gender, etc. You may lose your job or customers. If it where said publicaly in the 60's, 70's, 80's no one would care.

But the point, THE point, is he did publicly.

Don't do it publicly if you don't want to be judged publicly.

Exactly, wrong time in history to not be aware of the ambient environment.
I knew nothing about Fisher before this dust up. What a pig. I'm surprised his clients stuck with him with that poor record.

Ah, the good of days when women and minorities were "no one" and we could just not give a fuck if they cared or not.

What's bullshit is anyone's insistince that they be allowed to be an asshole without consequence. You are certainly free to be an asshole and the rest of us are free to not associate with you by way of being your employer, employee, or customer when you self identify as an asshole. Which you're doing a great job of with your whining, by the way!

Making a joke is not the same as being a asshole, there is a distinction. Women too can make jokes both about sex and men.

Silly question... but what is Steinway Lynch? (picture below)
Google didn't come up with anything.
The only reason I ask, one would assume its something to do with investing, but that font is the exact font of the piano company, Steinway and Sons. That's trademarked, (In fact they went to court about that several years ago, people bootlegging Steinway's.)
No biggie. I just happen to notice it in that picture.

On a phone call Thursday with the staff that manages institutional relationships, Fisher expressed remorse and said the business is still growing despite the loss of key clients, according to people familiar with the matter. About 20 institutions are pulling almost $3.9 billion from the firm, one of the people said.

I like this premise as I've had to work with plenty of asshole and the net result is they just demoralize the workplace and talent ends up leaving. I however do like to dabble in asshole humor and am by most account not asshole. The PC filter takes no prisoners in that regard.

Making a joke that is known to offend people is being an asshole, no matter if you're a man or a woman telling the joke. You're very clearly saying to everyone that whatever jollies you get from telling the joke are worth more than their discomfort. You may not think that's asshole behavior, but your definition of asshole behavior is really irrelevant if the rest of us think it is. At that point you're just displaying a lack of self awareness in addition to asshole behavior, and in any event whatever you choose to call it the fact remains that the rest of us would rather not work with, for, or around that type of behavior. So we developed a way for you to self identify and either self select out or be excluded from the day to day lives of the rest of us. And the best part is you all playing right along with the whining and outrage, and that same lack of self awareness means you seem to not even realize it!

Trading requires risk management inside of an environment you do not control. If you can't do that with one, I'd worry about your ability to do the other.
