Yep---it wasn't open carry, but the point is that when regular folk are armed, we're all safer. Texas man who stopped church shooting says he 'had to take out' gunman because 'evil exists' Two men were killed when the gunman opened fire at West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement on Sunday morning, as more than 240 parishioners were inside. Within seconds, he was shot to death by two congregants who fired back.
Its not the people that go to church... its the losers that for whatever reason, feel the need to make some kind of statement. You say you're glad you "don't live in this movie" but in reality you do, we all do. Do you ever go out and do anything Freddy? Because if you do, you might as well substitute the word "church" in what you wrote above with the word "movie". Ironic right? I'm sure you'd grateful if you were actually at a movie with a date and there were about 5 trained ccw's in there with you enjoying the flick when some pos pulls an AR out of his coat because he decided the day before his life isn't worth living anymore. Church, school, theater, restaurant... does it really matter? I fail to see the point you're trying to make ...aside from taking a shot at organized religion.
The shot wasn't at organized religion. The shot was at needing an instrument of death at a place of worship that is anathema to violence and death. And guess what? Billions of people around the world don't live in that western.
Colorado is a CCW state yet that did not stop.an asshole frol shooting up a movie theater. I love all these wannabee Call of Duty X Boxers who were never in the military or law enforcement think that if some one starts blasting your movie theater with an AR you are going to jump up and whip out your pistol in a dark movie theater and drop the gunman who you cannot see. I will tell you that even if I have a CCW I am pulling my date down to the ground and covering her up while holding my gun and that is the most any of you would do. Not an anti gun statement, just anti bullshit that you guys would stand up in gunfire in a dark theater and be a hero rather than dropping mud in your pants while 20 rounds are tearing up people.and seats around you.
meh, the odds are still low enough that my lack of fear allow me to choose not to live in that movie. Still fucked for those that get caught in the odds that should be lower and reflective of a 1st world country.
"You guys"? Not me brother. I'll be down there on the ground with you, maybe cop a feel off your date during the confusion. Its a slippery slope to be sure. There's bound to be an incident where some overzealous clown with a ccw exercises some vigilantism. Just because people get a ccw, doesn't mean they aren't idiots. I know a guy that has one and he's a f'n moron with the IQ of a brick. Every time I think about him carrying a weapon around, and he does, 24/7... and he loves the "power" of it... makes his dick bigger in his head I guess... but man this cat is a perfect example of everything that can wrong when too many people jump on this "bullets flying in both directions" bandwagon. The fact that this guy can get a ccw tells me all I need to know. There's bound to be an incident before long where either a few innocents get taken out by a ccw, or a ccw just starts blasting someone when it wasn't warranted. It'll be interesting to see how the courts handle that. I can see huge lawsuits popping up from the families of any innocents that get taken out by a ccw that probably shouldn't have had one. A lawyer's dream. Anti-gun lobby's dream too. It'll happen. There'll be a big public case that'll hold the nation's attention soon enough. Mark my word.
Agreed----A CCH causing the trouble would occur at a miniscule rate, if any. I'm a CCH and the people around me are many-fold safer than they would be otherwise.
