Really? That's odd, since the official language of the country is English.

But seeing your posting history, I can easily see you're not one of the brightest people out there... So it is no surprise to me the you tried to offend me in some weird way while writing in Spanish(I don't know why, but I have a strong feeling that you are one of those ignorant morons that think that Brazilians speak Spanish) literally "To eat shit!", which in Portuguese would be very similar to Spanish: "Comer merda!".

Even so, nobody would understand what you are trying to say, since this doesn't make any sense at all. Most people would deduce that you are trying to say that YOU eat shit, if someone heard the idiocy you wrote... Which again, it wouldn't surprise me if that were true. You seem like the type that would eat shit.

So, after embarrassing yourself, you should be happy that you learned that Brazilians speak Portuguese, but this level of ignorance has a long way to go to get fixed, so here's another lesson for you in Portuguese: "Coma merda!" (This translates to "Eat shit!" in English).;)

Last I checked some years ago, America does not have English as an "official language". It is nowhere in the U.S.C.

Yes, just checked again...It is not official on national level, but apparently has adoption by the states.

Whatever... The point is that most sayings in the US are in English and there certainly is not a saying that goes "Comer Mierda!", because that makes no sense, unless one wants to refer to the act of eating shit for some reason, but stating that without a context or without giving a reason would simply make someone look as a lunatic or as an idiot, or both. It would literally be the same as someone yelling at you "TO EAT SHIT!"...

But I confess it is interesting that there is no official language in the US... However, I'm sure you understood what I meant. And I stand corrected regarding this particular issue:)

I agree. And I remember specifically telling myself years ago to remember that Brazilians speak Portuguese, not Spanish. I found that interesting, because who knew Portugal had such an influence on South America.

I suppose it makes sense, because quickest way to Atlantic ocean from Spain is to push right through Portugal and launch from their coast, sweeping them up along the way as they loaded their ships for conquering.

Nope. But there are many similarities between Spanish and Portuguese languages.
I don't speak Spanish, but I can understand 90% of what any Spanish speaker says IF he talks slowly. If they speak at their normal speed, I understand almost nothing. There is a very funny and interesting video about this:
