1,000 YM contracts x 19pts? That is probably the entire true open interest of contracts traded thru such a span. 1,000 in the ES? Several ticks push. 1,000 in the YM? Wow!
It depends how you trade it. I did ok with the ball today as just 1 of my indicators. But I go for small tiny points. I need to one day work on my trades so that I can get more profit if the market moves alot.
LOL, Every post here is of afternoon calls,go back and tally em up. I think of the approx. 30 calls made only 3 or 4 have been misses, and 2 of those were because of breaking news, Today's Strong call wasn't really a miss when you consider that the Averages made highs at 2:30, sold off some and then had a strongish final hour. The afternoon"Ball" is designed to focus on the closing-trend or the final hour which if you check the chart below was definately an up-trend. The closing numbers for the indices were above the actual 'Balls" 1:05 pm update. When I made my ET update 40 minutes later the Averages were already at higher levels .Unfortunately Inside days like today don't provide much profit potential. The "Balls" morning Flat call was a bullseye which cut accross the grain of the conventional wisdom that thought today was going to be a big down day. My main fade Bob Pisani on CNBC was going on and on about how bad things were. Anyway, I'm glad I was golfing as only a wimpy untradable uptrend emerged. Rennick

FRIDAY!!! 9/15 1:45pm Dow+60 I'm in a bit of a hurry again today so let's get down to the nut cutting. Rennick enters the room, looks at "BALL", goes to mic,(blah, blah, you guys know the routine by now) and will now speak, "The Mighty Chrystal Ball is calling for WEAK Market action this afternoon. Let's hope we get a selloff that will knock your Aunt Connie's socks off" Watch out for Options Ex. hanky panky going on. I never trade option's ex. because of it. Have a great week end all. Mon. 9/18 1:55 pm Dow-18 Mrs. Rennick is off today, so filling in to knock off a weekend's full of dust with a world class spit-shine is Lo Fat Ho. She is the head massager in the locker room at Rennicks Country Club and has graciously agreed to shine the "BALL" while on a hastily arranged tour of Rennick Manor. In a blur of motion she is finished with the shine, She shuffles away from the "Ball" with very small Geisha style steps, stops to bow to Rennick as they exchange knowing looks. A sneaky looking Rennick takes a hurried look into a very shiny "Chrystal Ball" and has already made his way to the mic, here's Rennick The "Orb" nailed the morning action and is calling for continued STRONG Market action this afternoon. Let's hope the morning action isn't the only thing that gets nailed this afternoon The Amazing One now escorts his guest to the secure trading area deep beneath Rennick Manor where he has promised to explain Jap candlestick theory .
