"Why don't you post your blotters in the trader P&L thread for a while and show us that you do walk the walk." mschey, I might just do that. What's my prize? What do I get in return as a reward? What would motivate me to do so? FTR, I passed up an ER sell signal that went for +5pts. I missed getting filled by one tick in the ES on a 10-lot that went more than +6pts to +10pts in favor without me. As often happens, I made more trading mistakes than correct decisions today. Key is keeping poor decisions contained, maximizing good decisions. If I were trading normal contract size (1/2 until mid-Sep) and/or took the third ER short = caught the ES short, it'd have been a 10K+ day. So... how do I rate my performance today? Good or bad? Who cares... this is Rennick's space. Anyone who shorted anything today made money. My post meant nothing other than support for this thread OUTSIDE of fixation on whether the calls given are whatever. mschey, glad to hear of your success. Please keep up the excellent work! Austin
hey it's austin 20/20 hindsight. i just noticed something, you say intraday market timing is bs, but this morning you said the market would be weak all day. of course you waited til after the housing number made it tank before you yelled out sell. so you really do believe in timing, gotcha, hell ya im the man. lolrofl
Caddy, I'm sure you have a point to make somewhere, but it eludes me. The market turned weak at 10:00am EST when the data came out. Anyone watching their intraday charts saw that transition in real time. Didn't they? Am I missing something there? After two days of constipated price action, pressure had built for a breakout either way. Agreed? Once it broke, clustered stops should continue to cascade up or down respectively. * Rennick's call was flat ahead of the data. Good call... charts were actually neutral = slightly bullish until the news broke. Again, sincere congrats on the ES trade. Keep it going! Austin
i know rennicks an old war vet who still thinks the war is on but we can all learn from austin 20/20 the teflon man, on how to handle rotten tomatoes. i like ya austin, you s.o.b. , lol
Caddy, after missing out on the ES fill AND deciding to pass on a third ER short this a.m., I spent midday running chainsaws clearing out a brushy spot in my yard to vent some mild frustration. After about one hour of that, together with thorn scratches from locust tree sucker shoots and two bites from horseflies big enough to ferry merciflight victims, I felt a lot less sorry for myself. My formative years were spent doing manual labor, that's all I was qualified for. Trading is the Great Equalizer, lest I'd actually have to get a high-school diploma and maybe college degree. As often happens, I made a lot more mistakes than correct actions in the market today. And I made money... so did you. We are two of the minority who accomplished that, and hopefully the readers of this thread prospered as well. ** I wouldn't know Rennick if he slapped me at a trade show. I look forward to buying him a few beers someday, and anyone else reading these words is sure welcome to join us... especially you, Caddy! Either Blue Light bottle or something stout & dark for me, please. From the posts I've seen in this thread, Rennick's "ball" has better than even odds of forecasting price action. Anything better than even odds is AN EDGE. As with any forecast, there will be some predictions right on the fringe of pass/fail. From here forward I'll abstain from any type of post in this thread... lurker status only. Rennick doesn't need any verbal support from me, that is evident to all. Looking forward to Thursday's a.m. prediction, Rennick! Signed Out, Looking In Austin P
Bill, I'm sure we share the same gripe. If you leave I totally understand. You will be missed, hope you reconsider. All the best. MS
Thurs. 8/24 1:58 pm Dow -10 A worried Mrs. Rennick sits by waiting as there is still no sign of her beloved William. The last she saw of him was yesterday when he carefully wrapped his "Chrystal Ball" in a blanket, said he'd be back later and headed out the door..... Wait what's that ,oh my it's him. She runs to give him a big hug, but Rennick quickly pulls away. "Not now woman, I've got work to do." An unshaven Rennick smelling of booze unwraps the mighty "Ball" and places it on the stand. After a quick look Rennick walks to the microphone and will now speak " For some reason the Orb was a little blurry today, but it's calling for FLAT Market action this afternoon. Prices should roughly maintain current levels" Rennick begins to leave but stops, and returns to the microphone. He pulls out a prepared statement written on a bar napkin from his pocket, "As some of you know I was AWOL yesterday. The reasons for my absence had nothing to do with anyone flaming, or criticism of anything in the Chronicles of Rennick. The issues behind my departure I believe have been resolved and I now understand the position of the "Man". I have one more very important thing I'd like to say. In my last post I very foolishly posted a picture of fallen American heros in their final resting place. This was a terrible error in judgement on my part of which I am deeply sorry. I was upset when I posted it to make a point. Such misuse of their honor on such a trivial issue is truly a low point for me. Thank you to the Moderator for deleting it as it was too late for me to do so. If I offended anyone especially Veterens and their families I sincerely apologize . Thank you". Rennick
Glad to see your return Rennick! Another fine call today, found me shorting the 11:15 rally, and covering one hour later for 1 3/4 points.....taking $87.50 per contract to the bank. LONG LIVE RENNICK!
