A real scientific pioneer. Seriously? A philosopher? Everyone's a philosopher I'm done arguing my point. I'd rather try to suck my own cock than meditate. I know there's a guaranteed outcome.
profitlocker, Meditation is actually not an easy thing - otherwise everybody would be doing it. Some days, one can just feel restless, some days like avoiding it, so many mental states !!!! Now, may I ask: if you have tried meditation before, what frightened you ?
Why would I force myself to do that? Just eat, sleep, fuck, exercise, and make money. Focus on what you need.
profitlocker, I did well to ask, as I was wondering if you'd ever done any meditation at all. Each person has their own path. I had some problems to sort and meditation was in hindsight, definitively the right way to go. Glad you did not have serious problems to sort: lucky you!
There's evidence (lots of it) but it doesn't imply "everyone" will believe in it. As for myself, I've seen one school nearby me use meditation to improve the academic performance of students with ADD. It's significant enough that several other schools are doing the same with similar like results. As for profitlocker, he probably doesn't realize that even when he tries to suck his own dick...after many times of trying to do such...it'll become a form of meditation for him especially after he trains (prepares) his mind/body to reach a guaranteed outcome. Simply, a lot of people meditate, they just don't realize it...such as sexual acts, listening to music, stretching muscles before an athletic event, massage, visualization and so on. In college, my girlfriend would put on some Jazz music, give herself a pedicure and paint her toe nails the night before every exam. She never wanted to be disturb when doing that routine. It was meditation for her. Simply, many people meditate even the self-dick suckers.
