I kind of like Joe Biden and think he will do a pretty good job. So I’m all set. Thanks. Obviously you’re lost on this issue immigration issue but it’s not up to me to set you straight, I’m just a stickler for accuracy. What I will say is Biden definitely set himself apart from the left on two issues during the Democrats primary. 1. Medicare for all and 2. Immigration. I expect him to keep his word on both issues.
Oh, he is keeping his word on immigration. Everyone gives him that. He promised to take the actions that would- to anyone with even half of a brain- be understood to lead to a full on invasion and effective removal of the border. Mission accomplished already Joe. Not sure how this fits with Joe and company out there whining and saying never encourage more illegals to come. No one- including you- believes that and Joe's words on the subject are etched in video in perpetuity. But I do understand that you have your script and need to earn the extra potato in your rations for the month.
The Biden administration is quietly pressing Mexico to curb migrants coming to the U.S., Mexican officials said, a move echoing Trump-era policy. Thursday, March 18, 2021 11:38 AM EST https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/18/world/americas/biden-mexico-migration.html President Biden has moved quickly to dismantle some of former President Trump’s signature immigration policies, halting construction of a border wall, stopping the swift expulsion of children at the border and proposing a pathway to citizenship for millions of immigrants in the United States. But he is clinging to a central element of former President Donald Trump's agenda: relying on Mexico to restrain a wave of people making their way to the United States. (More at above url)

This thread has a misleading title. It's officially a "challenge" not a crisis which of course was caused by Donald Trump.
Mexico launches measures to limit border crossings from Guatemala https://thehill.com/latino/544118-m...ighten-crossings-across-border-with-guatemala The Mexican government rolled out steps Friday to prevent illegal crossings at its border with Guatemala as the U.S. faces a burgeoning crisis of Central American migrants at its southern border. Mexico’s National Migration Institute, part of the country’s Interior Ministry, announced that various resources, including drones and militarized police, will be deployed to monitor points of entry on its southern border. Restrictions will also be placed on nonessential travel, including tourism, to comply with COVID-19 health guidelines. The institute claimed the measures are being implemented to protect minors who are crossing the border, noting that 4,180 accompanied and unaccompanied people under the age of 18 have illegally crossed the border with Guatemala between Jan. 1 and March 18. The body specifically placed blame at the feet of gangs and so-called “guides” who are allegedly informing migrants it is easy to make it to the U.S. The restrictions will be in place for a month, though they can be renewed. The announcement comes as the U.S. grapples with a surge of attempted crossings at its southern border with Mexico. The Biden administration has continued turning away most migrants, though it has allowed unaccompanied minors into the U.S. More than 14,000 minors who traveled to the U.S. without their families are currently in federal custody, an official said Thursday, and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said this week that the number of attempted crossings at the U.S. southern border is expected to reach its highest level in two decades.
More proof that the AstraZ vaccine can be highly effective in the right places. Note that the article says: "The restrictions will be in place for a month, though they can be renewed." And y'all know what "renewal" will require. More vaccine. Also highly effective when shipped to Canada. Immediately eliminates complaining about cancellation of the keystone pipeline.
