If Fauci was anyone else at any other time Trump would've fired him..... Fauci's probably still not safe given Trump's ego/narcissism.
Claim: Trump's response has been great! Rebuttals: The first case of COVID-19 in the US was confirmed on Jan 20, 2020, the same day as South Korea's first case. Trump spends almost two months dismissing COVID-19 Another video compiling Trump not taking COVID-19 seriously Infections in the US up to March 17th vs. Trump quotes US Intel agencies were briefing Trump on COVID-19 in January and February, yet he still didn't take the threat seriously. On February 28th, Trump completely dismissed the growing alarm bells and warning signs about COVID-19 by saying it was all "their new hoax." Claim: Trump's impeachment trial prevented a strong response, so really the democrats who are at fault. Rebuttals: If the Trump administration can't handle two things at once, they're not fit to be in the White House. Trump is ultimately responsible for national defense, so if he couldn't handle that, then he wasn't doing his job. Trump was aquitted on Feb 5th, so what explains the lack of response between Feb 5th and mid March when Republicans finally changed their tune? Claim: The Chinese Communist party is to blame for all of this. Rebuttals: America is not goverened by the Chinese communist party. Defense of the USA is the responsibility of the President. The Chinese government admitted it screwed up during the initial days of the outbreak, but the SARS-CoC-2 genome was released, on Jan 12th, 2019. Viruses spread - it's just nature. The Chinese could have done more initially to keep it contained, but once it's out, it's up to every government and nation to be responsible for their own mitigation efforts. The response in the is the responsibility of the President. Claim: Trump has been combatting coronavirus since January 31st when he put in place travel restrictions from China. Rebuttals: Too little, too late. By Jan 31st, the US already had 7 confirmed cases, and COVID-19 had spread to over two dozen countries.. The "too little, too late" has been a consistent theme. *** Claim: This virus outbreak is just a natural disaster that happens. Blaming Trump for an act of God is ridiculous. Rebuttals: Natrual disasters happen, but our prevention, preparation, and response to them is under our control. Trump disbanded the NCS pandemic response team in 2018, combining it with several other teams. This greatly reduced the capability of that team to plan and prepare. The first case of COVID-19 in the US was on January 20th. Over a month later on February 28th, Trump was still dismissing the alarm bells, and even called the growing concern about COVID-19 as the Democrats' "new hoax". It wasn't even until mid-March that Trump-supporting media finally started taking the pandemic threat seriously. By then, COVID-19 had likley been spreading for two months within the US. South Korea had their first COVID-19 case on the same day as the US. They responded quickly with good results, but the US responded slowly, which allowed the virus free reign to spread.
I don't believe the virus is a natural disaster. if we go back and remove the animal containment places that keep the bats and other animals in filthy conditions in China before they kill and clean them in open spaces and then eat them we would have reduced greatly the creation of this type of epidemic. CNN did a special on Pandemics and the part about how ducks/birds are killed in China in the market and cleaned and the water that is used to drain them of blood/organs and then defeather and clean them and how the workers are doing this out in the open in filthy conditions, no wonder there are bird viruses spreading.
Trump told governors on a conference call on Monday that he had not ‘heard about testing in weeks,’ suggesting that a chronic lack of kits to screen people for the coronavirus was no longer a problem,” the New York Times reports. “But governors painted a different picture on the ground.” In fact, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) told CNN this morning his state will see its peak in coronavirus cases “between mid-April and mid-May… It’s a 30-day period time. We’re not quite sure when… Part of this is driven by the fact that we don’t have widespread testing.”
Remember this, we inherited — the word is we inherited — bad tests," Trump falsely insisted during Wednesday's White House briefing. "We really inherited bad tests, these are horrible tests." In fact, the tests were created earlier this year by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is headed by Trump-appointed director Robert Redfield. The New York Times recently detailed how the administration "lost" an entire month in the fight against the virus by repeatedly fumbling the testing rollout. Roberts called out Trump's false claim, noting that it was his administration which had disbanded the White House pandemic team created under the Obama administration. Advertisement: "You have talked about the failings of the Obama administration in leaving you with empty shelves and no plans," Roberts said. "They have said you got rid of the pandemic office in the National Security Council–" "We didn't do that," Trump interjected, pushing another false claim. "That turned out to be a false story." "What are you, working for CNN?" Trump added. Advertisement: "No, no, no," Roberts replied. "I'm pointing out what they have said and what you have said – that's all." "I thought you were with Fox," Trump said. "But Fox isn't so easy, either. Don't kid yourself." "It's not about Fox or CNN," Roberts objected. "Look, John, let me tell you something. You know that's a false story," Trump falsely insisted. "What you just said is a false story." Trump added that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, "knows this better than anybody," though he quickly moved on to the next question. Fauci did not comment on the issue during the news briefing but testified to Congress last month that the team was, in fact, disbanded and said he was not thrilled about it. "I would say we worked very well with that office," he told Congress. "It would be nice if the office was still there."
Ya but they kept their federal jobs and did something else, which according to dumb Cons is the same thing.
