Sadly I'm at the point in life where I've got to start thinking about getting a place where my mom can (hopefully figuratively) live in the basement. Since I left for a service academy many years ago at the age of 17 I haven't actually been back for anything but visits to either of my parents, however again your projection is quite telling.
