Would it be fair to say that you are more disappointed with Biden’s ability to deliver than what he says he is for?
I try to think of things from a systemic standpoint: Is a proposed idea/policy either self-sustainable or worth the net allocation of resources to it? Most of what Biden said is not sustainable or even fully justifiable. What he proposes would cause the budget deficit to increase, not decrease like he says it would. He certainly knows this, but is attempting to “Aim high” on ideas that any compromise by his opponents will net his side more than if he were “Reasonable”. As far as “Backstabbing”, Joe needs Progressive votes in order to get elected. However, many Progressive policies are simply not sustainable economically. So yes, Joe lied to get votes, but who doesn’t? Ironically, I feel Trump’s policies, perhaps tethered a bit in some areas, are more Progressive friendly than Biden or Progressive ideas in that a larger economic base creates more room for social programs than a smaller economic base. In other words, we should strive to create a fertile business environment, free from excessive regulations and taxes, where “Businesses will want to business”.
How about inflation and regulatory fees such as vehicle registration and emissions testing requirements as a tax? Don’t forget increased sales, real estate, gasoline, and excise taxes. Guess which demographic, the demographic with the lowest savings rate, gets hit hardest by these taxes and price increases? If there ever was a demographic that needed to vote with their pocketbook, it is them. The question is, will they ever figure it out?
This is it really..... some of the far left proposals are so fucktarded that dont realize it and think they were betrayed when politicians elected dont go for them. Nothing AOC has proprosed is even remotely intelligent within the scheme of the U.S. economy works... just ask all those Long Island residents who got fucked out of 20 years of investment and growth from Amazon...the progressives are suffering from tunnel vision rather than trying to work within the system.
There does seem to be an increasing “Progressive Mentality” in the US. The Progressives seem to have a well though out plan to increase their influence in US politics. Unfortunately, their policies discourage risk taking and initiative, key drivers of increasing productivity and standard of living. Prime example of a Progressive profile is AOC. She is intelligent and educated, seemingly wants to make a positive difference, but appears utterly clueless how our system has produced outstanding opportunities for those willing to contribute to society through their hard work. The political engine of buying votes using other people’s money for social programs by definition will lead to system failure, potentially leading to a Soviet style life and strife. The jury may still be out on whether the Democracy/Capitalism experiment works long term, but the outlook is not looking good, in my opinion.
but, but if they don't make over 400k they won't pay an extra penny-----signed No Biden and Jen Snarki.
To be fair, some of Biden’s inflation was a reasonable tradeoff for continued needed Covid related stimulus. However, some entities, such as apartment owning hedge funds, appear to have colluded with one another to raise rents 30% in one year. Historically, rents have been a lagging inflation indicator. Annoyingly, CNN seems to have actively “Promoted” this raising of rents. Where is Biden on this issue? Some manufactured products and especially many services have not seen their costs rise nearly as much as the prices they chose to raise. Greed is the word? Then again, I am a beneficiary of much higher freight rates myself, so maybe it is hypocritical for me to rant. However, when I think of retirees and those in entry level jobs, I feel bad for the financial squeeze many of them are going through. A squeeze that appears to be a significant factor in Biden’s low job approval polls.
