  1. Modern US poll “Results” represent, again, the effectiveness of media propaganda, rarely anything more. Ever wonder why supposedly statistically significant polls so often differ greatly more that their stated error margins when comparing different pollsters? Ever wonder why there are some many different polls and why they done so often? Modern US polls are designed to manipulate public opinion for political benefit either through facilitating potentially unpopular legislation or in support of a particular political party.

    You are welcome.

Gallup approval ratings polls started in the 1930's,and is 100% in predicting if a president will win re election.

  3. You are trying to move the goal post. I am not going to let you. Polls are used to manipulate public opinion and some of those Presidential results were the likely result of such manipulation. In essence, the polls themselves can be self-fulfilling. There is a University study on this. The net effect of certain polls is changing opinions of about 2.5% of the population, affecting the outcomes of many elections. Polls are a method of the ruling class of steering elections towards favored political candidates and garnering public support for potentially unpopular legislation, such as the freedom robbing, Constitution violating, “Patriot Act”. Ever think of why legislation robbing us of rights would be named the “Patriot Act? Feeling manipulated, yet? Can you sense how polls might be self-serving for political elites and their corporate masters, yet?

This dope was not a favored political candidate and he was trashed by the media prior to re election but approval ratings told us he would win a 2nd term though.

  6. Yes, Bush did a lot of damage. How you think Al Gore would have been? My concern is he would have been too regulatory-happy and hurt our economy. Al’s personality seemed very authoritarian, and the district in TN he was US Senator for was known for its corrupt and harsh law enforcement practices against truckers. I.E., lets raise revenue from vulnerable, out of state visitors. Several TN DOT officers ultimately went to jail or lost their jobs in a inspection-mechanic kickback type scheme. In a side note, Al Gore did not carry his home state of Tennessee in his Presidential bid.

Much better than Bush.He wouldn't have turned a 200 billion dollar surplus into a 1.2 trillion dollar deficit. He wouldn't have invaded Iraq.

  8. I would like to the Biden Administration establish a regulatory authority to license and regulate pollsters. Might as well include ethical guidelines, if not ethical requirements for the media describing themselves as “News”, as well. Further, media organizations may not publish anything that might reasonably be interpreted as news without being licensed, with non affiliated social media posters being an possible exception, perhaps if certain rules were adhered to. There should be great flexibility on who can bring a cause of action against pollsters and media companies under those regulations. A consistent pattern of regulatory non-compliance should carry penalties up to license revocation. Can you see Biden rising to that level of leadership?

As can be seen by recent events, public trust in our institutions is important, if not essential, for our health and welfare. There will never be public trust when media companies manipulate, lie, unreasonably censor non-national security related information, engage in heavily biased coverage of an issue, and politicize disasters not directly caused by a failure of leadership.

Do you believe reasonable ethical guidelines should be required to be adhered to by media companies, including pollsters?
