  1. Looks like a tough road ahead for them. A major pandemic with a mutating pathogen, shaky economy, rioters on their Left, rioters on their Right, high federal, state, and local debt levels, high business and consumer debt levels, large budget and trade deficits, monetary concerns, potentially escalating geopolitical tensions, and ever present environmental concerns.

No matter what they do, someone is going to be pissed off and probably will take out their frustrations on a police car, government building, a business, a statue, or someone else. Opps, I should have pluralized the preceding.

The tools in their arsenal are science, technology, communication skills, and thoughtful action. Perhaps instead of sugarcoating a potentially unpopular policy to some, it may be best to be forthright and and explain the detailed reasoning behind each policy, while offering the other side a “Consolation” policy or measure. Such action, especially if repeated over time, would likely result in the other side as feeling reasonably represented, creating an increased willingness to cooperate.

I believe if the Biden-Harris Administration go heavy handed against those on the Right and their representatives, it will only keep our polarization and mistrust of politicians and the media at high levels, leading to boycotts, lower consumer spending, and less business confidence. The manifestation of the preceding will be civil unrest and poorer economic performance than what would otherwise be the case. It may actually be beneficial in the long run if the Biden-Harris Administration held the press accountable, even if they are the beneficiaries of media “Soft pedaling”. Credibility of our political leaders and the media are critical in defusing long term resentment from all sides.

It may be appropriate for the Vice President to take on an expanded roll than historically has been the case. Perhaps Kamala will take on several major responsibilities as part of her continued development as a top leader while reducing the load on our President.

There is lot going on and this Administration has a full plate on their hands. Hopefully all of us will give them a chance to perform to their full potential. After all, if they perform well, it may lead them to successfully addressing many of the issues facing us, to the benefit of all of us.

Republicans leave the country worse than when they came into office.Dems leaves the country better then when they came into office.Biden wont be perfect but the country will be better when he leaves than the current pile of shit Trump has left.

  3. One of the measures of Presidential performance is how polarized the nation was before (S)he took office and how polarized it is after they left office. Although Trump may score low in this category, it wasn’t from his lack of trying. Hostile Democrats and the media constantly stirred up dissension for political and viewership reasons throughout his term.

Identity politics is beneficial in keeping one’s base energized, but is polarizing and detrimental to our country as a whole. Biden won the election. Campaigning is, or should be, over. Hopefully Joe and Kamala get down to this business of leading the United States through very difficult times. Part of their success will be garnering the cooperation of the other side. Not easy, but then again, reaching a point where many consider them to be a above average even elite leaders is not easy either.

Are you serious? No president came into office more divisive and looking for fights more than Trump, ever. His whole shtick was catering to white racists and their grievances against others.

  6. Trump is gone in less than 3 days. This thread is supposed to be about our new President, Joseph Biden and our Vice President, Kamala Harris.

Propaganda and opinions of Trump are old news at this point. Remember, the “Sources” that have been most critical of Trump have been thoroughly discredited because of their inaccurate statements, their presenting subjective “Determinations” as fact, and their ties with biased entities.

Let’s focus on Biden and Harris, please. Personally, I’m planning on being supportive of the new administration for that least their first ninety days.

That would be false. Those who have been critical of Trump have been proven right. His presidency as the worst president ever proves that.

  8. The Orange Man bad theme is the only good news they have going at the moment, so they won't let go of that anytime soon.
Their biggest challenge will be appeasing their own base. The base essentially wants Universal Basic Income for all the unemployed, 15 bucks an hour for those employed at the minimum wage level, which makes zero sense. Why work when UBI pays better than working? Covid is still completely out of control in the lockdown states, and holding it's own everywhere else. Logistics of the vaccine rollout will continue to be problematic. A caravan of illegals is working it's way up to arrive by spring. Joe can handle that with the stroke of his pen, but still has the problem that comes with thousands upon thousands of poor and sick people entering the country.
Antifa isn't going away, expect a violent summer. It's only a matter of time before some thug gets his ass jammed up with a cop. Enter BLM. The MAGA mob is organizing and will dominate any news of violence, but that won't diminish the damage being done by Antifa and BLM mobs. Expect the media smoke and mirror game to provide as much cover as possible.
Then there's foreign policy which can blow up, literally, in an instant. China will continue to fuck us wherever possible.
Finally the boot of big tech will continue to try and control what passes for free speech which will only serve to exacerbate all of the above problems. Other than that, it's all good. Oh wait, Hunter might have a surprise or two. Me thinks Joe is going to be looking for an early exit, and Kamala ain't ready for primetime, not in the middle of this shitshow. So yeah, hanging on to Orange man bad will be around for awhile.

  9. I don't know about you, but I'm keeping a spot open for Biden/Harris on my "Top 5 Worst Presidents" list.

The Left has the "hammer" now. They were pissed when Trump interrupted their partying, so they won't let opportunity slip through their fingers again.

They will ruin what's remaining of America with their immigration policies and Leftist dictum! (Is the plural of dictum, "dicta"?)

Trump wasn't even sworn in before Dems concocted a plan to oust him with fake Russia hoax.

Tell me who the divisive ones are again??

Yet I never heard any companies saying they're going to stop donating because the dems are trying to overturn the election..
