Ok, I have to break this down into bite sized chunks so it's more easily digestable. If I make my posts too long, readers will skip them, tl;dr
The core of Christian thinking is the bible is written by God. Because it's supposedly written by God, it is therefore 100% correct and also therefore Christians are correct. The bible and Christian thinking is full of nonsense, it’s fraudulent that's the point I will prove. Christians will believe the bible and what other Christians teach them, they won’t do any homework to question the outlandishness of the brainwashing and tomfoolery. Let’s begin by quoting the bible which Christians will use as the basis of the claim the bible is God inspired / written, with some of the following:
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 2 Peter 1:21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 2:11-16 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.[a] 14 The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. 15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments, 16 For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. Psalm 19:7-14 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb. By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward. Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. 1 Corinthians 2:12-13 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 13 This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words. John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
Ok, so I'm laying a foundation for my argument. Christians say the bible is the inspired word of God. Gottit?
Still laying down the foundations...... Christians believe God is a trinity, God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit and who does not change. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Numbers 23:19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever. Malachi 3:6 For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Psalm 90:1-2 1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
Still laying the foundation of the argument of bible nonsense 1 Corinthians 13 1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
To conclude, we are led to believe the bible is God inspired, God never changes and Love is is the pinnacle of Godliness where Corinthians describes what love is. More later..... to continue....
I've never thought about it deeply enough but you have made a very good point. Like peeling an onion or going down a rabbit hole, I'm actually truly surprised myself at the depth of bs. Thanks to the christians on ET, the more they post nonsense, the more I do my homework about the religion. Right from the first book of Genesis to the last book Revelations, the bible is full of pure nonsense. It begins with the 6 day creation, Adam & Eve creation, Serpent tempting the woman into sin and 10 commandments handed to Moses from God. It ends with christians rapturing into the sky and into heaven. The bible is full of bs miracles, the whole book is preposterous and so you are very correct the "half truth" is overstating it a tad. Hoping to cover more of this later.
Is there a God? What is God? God according to judaism and christianity is a pure honest living spirit being whom humans must worship continually. This God rules the universe. The polar opposite is Lucifer or Satan who embodies pure evil and is anti God. Do I believe in God? Definitely not the jewish / christian version, it's total nonsense, total fiction, total idolatory. Worshipping God is a figment of the imagination, manipulation by politics and church. Do I believe in the existence of a Satan and Hell? It's total crap, fear mongering, more manipulation, more of the usual utter religious bullshit. It there a spirit universe? Possibly, probably. Will we be born again after death? Wtf knows, end of story. I might come back as a snail, maybe come back as water, maybe come back air, maybe come back as soil or rock, maybe become part of a black hole. Wtf knows anything, just live this current life the best you can and be honest with yourself, that's partially in our control.
