  1. Yes, I was WRONG with that call. Real traders are often WRONG. only the Price Action, TA aliases on this site RARELY LOSE. I am wrong often, that`s part of the game. You simply don`t trade and will never get this fact.

  2. The TA folks claiming success with charts alone refusal to post any before the fact calls or participate in any controlled experiment to test their claims is all we need to know about THE TRUTH. and in this case, the TRUTH isn`t pretty.

  4. surf, we are all different thankfully.

for me in the past i spent 18hrs a day studying something until it proved edge or not. once it was proven worthless i moved on. the only thing the extra time does is bring you faster to understanding the particular "subject" so to speak. i happen to come from a very hardworking family so spending time was easy...plus if you take out internet posting and television..you would have the time to master something far sooner than your fruitless 30 year endeavor in the markets.

Rarely losing Days, not trades, why? Because they don't pump 90% of their net worth into a single call which will develop over days weeks and possibly months. Their exit signals appear a lot faster there for the amount lost is less and easily made up for by the wins. Simple stuff.

  6. Sounds simple, right. That`s the seduction of TA-- very dangerous stuff for the weak minded. surf

Yea you were better off sticking with what you know, a lot of programmers around here show them selves unable to manually trade for shit.

  8. What do you mean by `fruitless``? I knew no one and nothing when I started-- and via pure desire and tenacity have forged a career in the financial markets-- not to mention operating a succesful real estate marketing company from 1990 to 2005 and only having to answer to a cubicle boss for 3 years out of school.

Try 20 years-- I am not that old, yet! -- but I am twice the age of my bride.

    Sounds simply because it is.

    > Dont put 90% of your money in one trade.

    > Dont let a profitable trade turn on you and go into the negative.

    > Dont sit on a losing trade babbling crap about price drivers being right and the market being wrong, until you are forced out.

    > Shorter time frames allow for a faster response. Exit when it goes against you hold for the run when it goes in your favor. Job done.
