The Best Presidential Team for 2008 - includes a Clinton.

  1. Another logical fallacy from you, just because it's good to have a passionate politician on the ticket does not follow that any passionate person belongs on the ticket. I am sure you believe that american people will choose a bush dittohead (and all republicans have been bush dittoheads, 75% still are) over an independent and passionate visionary like Al Gore. Then again for the last 6 years you believed that Bush was a brave decisive leader who could do no wrong, so I am not surprised. Some people never learn.

  2. I have repeadetly said Bush was the worst president ever.

    Al Gore a visionary? Please.

If Al Gore runs he will lose simple as that.

What you call passion clear thinking people call a temper tantrum, no different from a 4 year old crying in a store.

  3. In 2000, Al Gore failed to win his home state of Tennessee. If the fine people of the Volunteer State didn't want him, why should the rest of us? Perhaps, his anti-gun and anti-tobacco stance fails to play well in the south?

Dddooo: While Al Gore if he runs would easily win the primaries, would be a great candidate and his campaign slogan "Re-elect Al Gore" would resonate with voters, I see absolutely no reason why he needs a Clinton on his ticket with all his controversies, investigations, love affairs and scandals. There are much better alternatives for VP today - Russ Feingold if he wants a progressive anti-war, anti-Patriot Act straight shooter, Wesley Clark if he needs military experience and Mark Warner if he wants a southern centrist with gubernatorial experience capable of easily carrying his own state (VA).

SouthAmerica: I agree with you – Al Gore can win the primaries.

Why he needs Bill Clinton on his ticket?

Bill Clinton would help put Al Gore over the top. It would be a sure winning team.

That team understands the future and would try to place the United States into the right path.

George Bush/Dickhead Cheney took the United States from the path to the future and they brought the US into the past – an environment of cold war, defense spending and a sure formula for a US economic fast decline. (We have a bunch of fools running the US government today.)

Al Gore’s position as an environmentalist will strengthen even further his run for president mainly after the new “Katrinas” cause major destruction in the US in the summer of 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Al Gore also understands the importance of the information superhighway and the internet for the future of the United States.

Bill Clinton brings to the table his international reputation – people love Bill Clinton all over the world. (Bill Clinton was a excellent president) Bill Clinton would help Al Gore assemble a first rate team to run his administration with people of the caliber of such people as: Lloyd Bentsen, Robert Rubin, Robert Reich, and so on…

Bill Clinton as the vp on Al Gore’s ticket would help restore some of the US credibility around the world. At least people would know that the United States is not being run by a bunch of “Idiots” and super-incompetent people.

sputdr: Yes Americans share his frustrations but I don't think they want a man in the white house who behaves like a 4 year old when he doesn’t get his way.

    PS- that's just stupid.

SouthAmerica: I don’t agree with you. Americans re-elected in 2004 a complete “Moron.”

In the middle of a war - only a moron goes to television and say "Bring them on".

And they did - and in doing so a large number of US soldiers died and thousands more are disabled for the rest of their lives.

The only nice words that come to mind to describe George W. Bush are: Moron, Idiot, and Jackass. And these are the words that a compassionate person would use to describe George W. Bush. Never mind the words of someone who really hate the bastard.

SouthAmerica: In my opinion Al Gore made two major mistakes in the 2000 presidential election – and he paid the price for these major mistakes.

    1) The number one mistake Al Gore made in 2000 was to distance himself from Bill Clinton and his accomplishments during the last 8 years.

    2) The second major mistake he made when he announced his choice for a running mate, at that point I told a few people: Al Gore just lost the election.

I never understood why he picked Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut to be on his ticket. This was not the right time to pick the first Orthodox Jew to be on a major party ticket in the history of the United States – when the United States is involved as a mediator in the mess in the Middle East and the US is perceived in the Arab world as being a major supporter of Israel.

Personally I don’t care about anyone’s religion and I don’t discriminate when people believe in Islam, Jewish religion, Buddhism, or any other religion for that matter. I believe in freedom of religion and the right of people to follow their chosen religion.

I also believe in the separation of church and state.

I don’t believe that the United States and the majority of its people were ready to elect an Orthodox Jewish for vice president since he could end up as the president of the United States if anything happened to the elected president.

And once again, I believe that - not because I discriminate against the Jewish religion and the Jewish people – but because of the political impact related to the mess that we have in the Middle East since I can remember.

If an Orthodox Jew such as Senator Joseph Lieberman became president of the United States that would not go well in the entire Moslem world because of the politics of the Middle East.

The choice of Joseph Lieberman to be Al Gore’s running mate in 2000 was a major mistake.

The other thing that I don’t understand is why Al Gore chose a senator from a state – Connecticut – that was supposed to be a democratic state anyway. Why he did not choose a Senator such as Daniel Robert Graham (Bob Graham) a democrat from Florida – with Bob Graham as a running mate Al Gore would have had a better change to carry the state of Florida since Bob Graham was a very popular senator in that state and he would have helped Al Gore secure a win in Florida in the 2000 presidential campaign.

    The 2008 presidential campaign.

Al Gore’s stock will increase drastically in the next 18 months after the United States goes thru another two catastrophic hurricane seasons with various Katrinas and widespread destruction and a lot of talk about global warming.

Al Gore will become the front-runner and most likely the democratic candidate in the 2008 presidential election.

With Al Gore for president and Bill Clinton as his running mate in 2008 – the democratic ticket would be almost a sure winner in that election.

In my opinion it is the way to go – if the democrats want to win in 2008.

In my opinion, Bill Clinton would be well received around the world on his effort to rebuild United States prestige and credibility from all the damage done during the Bush administration years – he would be well received even in places such as North Korea and Iran.

Bill Clinton is the best politician the United States has to offer to the world – he is a real statesman and the people know that he is very smart and a scholar. He is a real superstar.

If the Al Gore/Bill Clinton team becomes reality in 2008 – I could see them choosing a high caliber cabinet team to help their administration that could include high quality people such as General Anthony Zinni as the new Secretary of State and so on…

And I am sure they would choose an outstanding economic team as well with people of the caliber of Loyd Bentsen, Robert Rubin, and Robert Reich among others.

    Conclusion:

The democratic party instead of wasting time with all the other people that the mainstream media speculate that could be the next potential democratic candidates for the 2008 presidential election - they should concentrate instead and place all their efforts and money starting today behind the ticket Al Gore / Bill Clinton for 2008.

This winning strategy also would send a message around the world – if you wait and have a little patience the United States will elect a quality government in 2008 and you will be able to communicate with the new people and you would avoid having to deal with the current US government officials who are as stupid and incompetent as anyone can be.

Who in his right mind want to deal with and waste their time with people such as: Condi Rice, John Bolton, Donald Rumsfeld, Dickhead Cheney, and "Pathetic" George W. Bush.

SouthAmerica: In the last two weeks it seems to me that a bunch of people from the Democratic Party got in the race for president in 2008 including Senator Joseph Biden, Senator Christopher J. Dodd Dodd, and many others.

Today, The New York Times publish an article by columnist Frank Rich – “The Cannes Landslide for Al Gore.”

He said on the article: “Still, the unexpected rebirth of Al Gore says more about the desperation of the Democrats than it does about him.”

It is a long article and a bunch of non-sense about Hollywood and the Hollywood crowd and so on.

It is amazing to me that all these television talking heads, pundits, and all kinds of political columnists and commentators are so clueless and out of touch with reality.

In my opinion, at this point the Democratic Party has its candidate for 2008, all the democrats have to do at this point is figure out who else will be in the Democratic ticket as vice president. Al Gore will be the Democratic candidate but not because of his latest movie about global warming and the environment. If that was the case then they should have released the movie in the summer of 2007 to position him as a potential candidate.

The reason Al Gore will sky rocket and will be very hard for any other democrat to beat him in the effort to become the Democratic candidate in 2008 – it is because the American people will be watching on live television at least 2 or 3 Hurricane Katrinas per year during the summer of 2006, 2007, and the summer before the presidential election in 2008.

The American people will be watching over and over again on television the results of global warming in the United States after every hurricane hits the US with its powerful destroctive forces – the destruction, the displacement of a large number of people, the costs related to reconstruction, and so on – and the debate about global warming will make headlines over and over again.

Al Gore has a well-established position as an environmentalist and Al Gore also understands the importance of the information superhighway and the internet for the future of the United States.

If you are not convinced as yet that Al Gore will be the best choice for the Democrats to be elected president in 2008 – just wait and watch one Katrina after another until everybody in the Democratic party will realize Al Gore will be a sure win in 2008.

The 6 to 9 Hurricane Katrinas that the American people will watch live on television in the summers of 2006, 2007, and 2008 will do the trick.

The Democrats should stop wasting time and money - and they should concentrate in finding out who will be the best VP to be in the ticket with Al Gore in the presidential election of 2008.

I have no doubt Al Gore will be the best Democratic candidate for 2008 – and I would consider putting Ralph Nader in the same ticket for vice president.

In 2008 a democratic dream ticket "Al Gore / Ralph Nader" could be a winning ticket for the Democratic Party.

  8. I can't remember who posted it, but a few months ago an ET member wrote something like:

<b>"Americans don't vote for the better potential leader. They vote for the candidate they'd rather have a beer with."</b>

Therefore, both Hillary & Gore are 100% unelectable, as neither could ever pass the 'beer test'.

Americans naturally favor the charismatic bullshitter. The master 'used car salesman' who knows how to tell them exactly what they want to hear. No need for the politician to actually <b>deliver</b> the goods- just make many ambitious promises you have no intention on keeping, and you'll do just fine.

Guys like Bill Clinton & Ronald Reagan will do well... while men like Al Gore and Hillary Clinton don't stand a chance.

I'd look out for sleazy bullshitters like John Edwards to make a surge in the Dem primaries. Edwards has all the right ingredients to make it into the white house.

  9. How do you explain the fact that more people voted for Al Gore than for his opponent?
