I'll vouch for FFastfill- As fast as you can bat your eye is as fast as the order is filled. My order size is only 1-2 cars, but I have to say compared to the other platforms I've used, theirs is the best, and so are their rates. Incidentally, I have no affiliation with them other than being a very satisfied customer.
When you run the Remote Professional client what do the appliation's windows run on? Inside an IE browser or are they a windows application running on the desktop?
I went to the Citrix web site. Its a proprietary, Windows-based client/server and collaboration platform.
I believe that you found your answer on the Citrix Website. Citrix is faster and more reliable, but it cost more for the Vendor. That is the reason why it is only used by FfastTrade at the moment.
I've been talking to futures brokers the past 2 weeks and have gotten the impression that certain platforms are better than others in terms of speed and reliability. The main reason seems to be their architecture. Could someone (preferably knowlegable in application development) offer a layman's term explanation as to why, short of being in a trading room with T1 lines , a futures trader concerend with stability and speed should use a platform that is .. 1. server based -FFastrade (Citrix) over 2. application based in client side (ZAP) over 3. browser based (Jtrader) Here is the $64,000 question for emini traders that have used 1 platform then migrated to a different one (presumably a successful trader who had enough trading profits to go upscale) - does the extra 1/2 second really matter? My reason for asking? Should I use broker w/ Jtrader for $0 monthly fee or go upscale $600 TT or $550 Citrix FFastrade. I would probably trade 1-4 lots to start 15-25 times per day. Many thanks!!!!!
- does the extra 1/2 second really matter? Honest answer is sometimes yes sometimes no. It comes down to your trading method(s), style, etc. My reason for asking? Should I use broker w/ Jtrader for $0 monthly fee or go upscale $600 TT or $550 Citrix FFastrade I would probably trade 1-4 lots to start 15-25 times per day. Noticed you said "would trade". My would suggest keeping your costs down while beginning in the mini's, and get a feel for where your style of trading developes. If you notice after awhile that you think you would/might/could have gotten sometime if you had been in sooner, then move up to a more upscale piece of software. All IMHO of course, Regards, Knyyt
i'm confused here. assume, i've got a dedicated lease line into a server. how would citrix be faster? isnt it is just a network. maybe my tech background isn't as strong as some of yours but I don't buy it.
TT cost more than 600 a month, more like 1000 dont know about ffasttrade, its new have not heard anyone using it. jtrader use to be expensive, but now they are giving it away.
The $550 for Ffastfill I simply amortize with the commissions over the course of the month. Example: If your daytrading the DAX, 1000 RT / month- the platform would cost $0.55 per RT. The overall cost would be $2.04 for commissions, and the .55. Total payment would be $2.59, all in. pretty decent deal for me. If you don't trade much I can see how the cost might be a problem.
