anybody can beat a globex terminal. exchanges are not in the business of designing order entry systems.
I'm new to PATS, I also use PFG Best. I was suprised to find that with everything PATS can do, the one thing it can't do is tell me how much money is in my account. Is this a limitation imposed by my IB or the clearer? I was told that there was no on-line or realtime way for me to get my current account balance - only via nightly email statements. I find that really hard to understand.
You may want to look and see if your clearing firm has an in-house online account viewing platform. I know that the firm that I provide has a product called Rand web that allow for customers to view thier account balance. PATS is only an order entry system, so to answer your question, it is the platform that does not allow for this. Cheers, Comp
For speed reasons PATS is an order entry system as comp mentioned. It does however show your daily P&L in realtime. RAN will show your account balance. jbarry@proedgeonline.com
I think certain direct brokers ought to stop suggesting that one has some dramatically faster access to the CME matching engine. If you are faster, produce the measurements or put a sock in it.
When you say anybody can beat a Globex terminal that means anybody can beat GL. GL is globex. At least the CME had enough smarts to hire a company that makes front ends. Technically speaking CME's front end is called Globex trader which is powered by GL Trade. However, the Globex trader screen is specific to CME. As a trader you want a screen that looks the same on all four of the largest future exchanges. Dealing with 2 ISV's is not speed smart.
Audit Logs are the best way of measuring speed on the CME. FFastTrade turns CME trades around in under .46 seconds. Audit Logs don't lie. They are vital information, if you are interested in Speed!! If you need to see proof, go to the Firms that are claiming Speed and ask for the Audit Logs. FFastTrade will show them to you if you are interested in trading!!!!
Have you looked at or heard anything about FFastTrade or FFastFill? Ask the ex TT and Ex GL Traders in the FFasttrade Office what they think?? VERY DIFFERENT EVALUATION!!!
