Just keep in mind Bernie would currently be president if not for the DNC, so its pretty tough to blame the GOP or Trump for that. Bernie consistently outpolled Hillary against Trump, and the DNC and Debbie Downer decided to put an end to that. The odds of him accomplishing his agenda were probably less than Trumps, but i still would have taken him over Hillary.
If Bernie runs again and fails to get the nomination he will get behind the nominee just as he did in 2016.I know you are hoping for Bernie running 3rd party,or Bernie destroying the democrat party or Trump voluntarily serving one term because you know Trump will get his ass handed to him in 2020.
No. Bernie is playing for his legacy and place in history now- even if that includes losing. No way will he or his followers step aside and hand their hard earned power over to some dnc approved dud who they know will be beaten again. He may try to accomplish the same thing by propping up Keith Ellison but it will take the party to the same place -deeply divided between those who want to go hard to the left an those who think the party needs to capture the middle. Just like last time but moreso. Bernie pretended to throw his support to Hillary but lots of his supporters stayed home.
Bernie throw his support to Hillary, and it wasn't pretend. He also attacked Trump, which he continues to do.Lots of his supporters stayed home but most regret that decision after seeing Trump in action. Bernie supporters wont be staying home in 2020, the thought of a second Trump term assures that. Again, you hope for Bernie destroying the democrat party because you know Trump is toast in 2020.
Yeh well. You know that just like you knew that Hillary was going to win and Trump was going to be "toast" last time. But who is the toast now? Your girl has been toast since last November. And if she (or Biden) run again in 2020, and beat Bernie again you think Bernies supporters are going to just be switched over to Hillary? Heh, dream on, they will want to see her burn in hell just like last time even if it means trump wins just as they did last time. You think they didnt know where trump stood on the issues compared to Hillary when they decided to stay home? Lay off the kool aid. And Hillary is just an example. All of the bernie supporters hate all those dnc selected duds with a passion. The republicans didnt want an establishment candidate either.
We won by 3 million and lost The EC by 78,000,thats with some Bernie supporters staying home, anti Hillary dems staying home and Jill Stein getting a million more votes in 2016 than she got in 2012.We only need a very small amount of those people to make up 78,000 votes. We wont even need those 78,000 votes because Trump has dropped 10 points in approval and favoribilty since he was elected and he is likely to get millions fewer votes from that loss of support. I know you are also hoping Hilary is the nominee again, she wont be.
I really doubt that. Trump won because he said things that working class white people had been complaining about for decades. Bernie Sanders was not saying those things. In fact, he says the opposite.
It is still amazing that after all these years there are people who are neither in the top income bracket, nor a part of the oil and defense industries, yet they continue to vote republican.
Yes and no. Despite their differences, both Trump and Bernie did well though because they focused bigly on the working class while Hillary ignored them, called them deplorables and focused on her identity politics. As Joe Biden said after the election, "a little bit of elitism has crept into the democratic party." Let us stipulate in advance that Michael Moore is a disgusting slob. Nevertheless, he was one of the first to really sound the alarm about Trump winning. He was able to do that not because he is a smart pundit but simply because he is from Michigan and could see how the party of the working class had pretty much ignored the working class and hated them now. Even Obama called Hillary out for using white working class people as a code word for being racist and ultra-conservative. He offered up the reminder that -although Hillary wrote them off and would not even campaign there because they were racist and sexist- that he/Obama had gotten their votes twice- and he is pretty much a black guy and a lefty. In other words, try campaigning rather than pissing on them.
No lack of losers for the dems to choose from. You assume that Trump will be the candidate too. Dont be so sure about that either. You wont get him out through impeachment but he could very easily declare victory at the end of his first term and leave the country in good hands with Mike Pence and return to the private sector for his next venture. Meanwhile, Bernie is out on the campaign trail and building local support everyday and it is not even campaign season. He is not going to win either, but he is going to (and has already) cause division in the democratic party beyond comprehension - including going third party or his supporters going third party after the dnc picks their obligatory dud and surprise, surprise it is not bernie. The dems have that crooked superdelegate system too so anyone who is not a dnc dud is pretty much screwed right out of the gate/ Bernie knows that now. He learned the hard way.
