The Bern relases his taxes. No speeches to Goldman Sachs for $250,000 each.

Bernie and Jane Sanders earned nearly $206K in 2014, tax returns show

"Washington (CNN)Bernie and Jane Sanders earned nearly $206,000 in 2014 and paid about $28,000 in federal taxes, according to a tax return released by his campaign Friday night.

The return also shows that the couple earned nearly $46,000 in Social Security benefits.
Together, their total unadjusted gross earnings was $205,617. Most of the earnings came from Sanders' $174,000 Senate salary, though Jane Sanders reported collecting $4,900 as acommissioner with the Texas Low Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Compact Commission...

The Bern following his heart, doing what he belives is right, regardless of the outcome. Truth can not be negotiated. Truth is fearless.

Bernie Sanders smashes the Israel status quo

New York (CNN)Bernie Sanders is taking a sledgehammer to the political status quo on Israel.

Sanders refused to back down Thursday night from his claim that Israel in 2014 used "disproportionate" force to respond to Hamas rocket fire from Gaza while calling for the United States to stop being "one-sided" in the conflict there. In doing so, he upended a long-standing tenet of American politics: that unflinching support for Israel is non-negotiable.

Sanders' unorthodox remarks at CNN's Democratic debate came just days before voters head to the polls in New York, where Sanders is fighting to narrow the significant, but not insurmountable, deficit he faces against former New York Sen. Hillary Clinton.

The Empire State's 19.79 million residents include the country's largest Jewish population -- some 1.8 million of the country's 6.8 million Jews live there, according to the 2014 American Jewish Year Book -- and one of the most active pro-Israel constituencies.

Sanders' nationally televised stance could represent a watershed moment in Democratic politics, as the sole Jewish candidate in the race -- and only one to have lived in Israel -- smashed a taboo that could lead others to follow suit....

  4. Truth may be fearless and nonnegotiable, but it is not always self-evident. Sanders remarks are controversial, not because they clash with the status quo, but because they are foolish, naïve and designed to pander to extreme pro-muslim factions of the democrat party.

Sanders also does not seem to understand the concept of proportional response. it does not require you to only fire one missile back for every terrorist missile that is launched at you, as he seems to imply. It means that you do not use clearly disproportionate force beyond what is necessary to neutralize the opposition. Saturation bombing of gaza for weeks on end, like we did to Germany in WW II, might be disproportionate. Taking military reasonable steps to prevent terrorists from launching missiles into your cities is not.

    Every little bit counts:

Bernie Sanders Picks Up a Few More Delegates at Colorado Convention

Bernie Sanders is netting a few extra delegates at Colorado's Democratic state convention — though it's not having a real impact on his chances to win the presidential nomination.

Colorado has a multistep process of allocating delegates. Based on the March 1 caucus, Sanders initially picked up 38 delegates to Hillary Clinton's 28.

Since then, Sanders has won additional support at congressional district conventions and Saturday's state convention, resulting in a few more delegates.

The final delegate allocation for Colorado: 41 for Sanders, 25 for Clinton...

    And now back to reality.

Why Bernie Sanders Says Terrible Things about Israel

    BY ROGER L SIMONAPRIL 13, 2016

It's been over a week since Bernie Sanders -- in an interview with the New York Daily News -- made arguably the most defamatory factual error of campaign 2016 by drastically inflating Gazan casualties in the 2014 Hamas-Israel war with a figure of "over 10,000 innocent people" allegedly killed by Israel. That number dwarfed those reported by the UN and even (amazingly) Hamas itself. Here's the transcript:

Sanders: Look, why don't I support a million things in the world? I'm just telling you that I happen to believe...anybody help me out here, because I don't remember the figures, but my recollection is over 10,000 innocent people were killed in Gaza. Does that sound right?

Daily News: I think it's probably high, but we can look at that.

Sanders: I don't have it in my number...but I think it's over 10,000. My understanding is that a whole lot of apartment houses were leveled. Hospitals, I think, were bombed. So yeah, I do believe and I don't think I'm alone in believing that Israel's force was more indiscriminate than it should have been.

Indiscriminate? Actually it was Hamas and Islamic Jihad that were indiscriminate by purposefully targeting Israeli civilians with their missiles, launched frequently from schools and hospitals in order to encourage reciprocal civilian deaths of their own people for propaganda purposes. And then there are the tunnels under Israel that Hamas and co. are still building to attack Israelis in their homes. All this after Israel withdrew voluntarily from Gaza.

Is it a coincidence that Sanders has chosen Simone Zimmerman, a BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions of Israel) sympathizer, to do his "outreach" to the Jewish community?

Such boycotts have been shown to hurt the Palestinians far more than they help them, but never mind. What interest me here is why Bernie Sanders -- a U.S. senator and the first Jewish presidential candidate -- would assert anything as absurd as the Israelis killed 10,000 innocent Gazan civilians. Why wouldn't he have the basic knowledge -- readily available to everyone as it is -- to know how far off his numbers were? Didn't he care?

Well, no. And there's a reason.

That reason is moral narcissism, the underlying motivation behind what Andrew McCarthy so accurately calls "willful blindness." Bernie is willfully blind about Israel, even though he spent time on a kibbutz and still has relatives in the country.

This moral narcissism that grips Bernie -- unlike the traditional narcissism of Narcissus admiring his handsome reflection -- is a narcissism of ideas and opinions. The views that make you feel good about yourself, that make others praise you and make you part of the "club," are what is most important to you and your self-image. They literally define you. Whether those views are based in fact or whether the results of those views are the least bit salutary is immaterial.

The moral narcissist, therefore, is almost always blind to reality, indeed disinterested in it. It's the pronouncements that count and are real. Moral narcissism leads inexorably to politically correctness. It is, in fact, the mother's milk of political correctness.

Lovable though he may appear, Bernie Sanders is a moral narcissist par excellence and a particularly dangerous one. He thinks he knows best about practically everything -- therefore he could "blue sky" a figure of 10,000 casualties out of thin air, even if, especially if, it made Israel look bad and imperialistic. That's the morally narcissistic position of the bien pensant in our culture in the media, entertainment, and, especially, the academy.

In this rare instance, because his claim was so outrageous, Bernie got caught, walked back his "estimate," and feigned innocence, though he was far from innocent. He was dishonest to others because he was and is fundamentally dishonest to himself. He believes his nonsense.

And it is not just regarding Israel that Sanders "blue skies." He does this in practically everything. Moral narcissism is what allows him to make economic proposals that don't remotely add up on any possible spreadsheet. That the proposals are a "good idea" -- that his intentions are good -- is all that is important.

I have watched Bernie preach this intellectual hogwash to an Iowa audience of several thousand mostly young people, few of whom had the educational background to evaluate what he was saying. They just believed. It was like watching moral narcissism as a communicable disease.

This is why, as I wrote above, Bernie Sanders is a dangerous man, all the more so since his views are infecting the corrupt Hillary Clinton, who will do anything to win. Republicans who flirt with the idea of voting against a Ted or a Donald in the general election should take note.

Sanders' campaign confronted with reality of closed primary in New York

"...Although their ranks are minuscule compared with the state's 5.8 million Democrats, Sanders' inability to count on support at the polls from them or others outside the Democratic Party underscores the reality that a core source of his strength throughout the nomination battle, independent liberals, can't vote for him in dozens of states, including New York...."

Bernie Sanders’ illiberal supporters: Do they expect safe spaces everywhere?
    BY ALAN DERSHOWITZ

As Bernie Sanders continues to challenge Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, the time has come to focus some of those who are most actively backing his candidacy.

Most of those voting for Sanders are decent people who truly deserve to be called “progressives.” But among his most active supporters are hard left elements within organizations such as Black Lives Matter, CodePink and MoveOn who are more appropriately called repressives. Too many of them have too little tolerance for views different than their own.

TRANSCRIPT: BERNIE SANDERS MEETS WITH THE DAILY NEWS EDITORIAL BOARD

Traditional liberals who have made their home in the Democratic Party should be wary of these groups. Much like the Sanders campaign, many of them are dominated by Occupy Wall Street veterans, whose brand of unfocused revolutionary politics was widely derided by Democrats and Republicans alike in 2011. They are at war with certain core liberal values, particularly as regards free speech.

Several weeks ago, for example, dozens of Black Lives Matter activists infiltrated a Donald Trump rally and forced the organizers to cancel due to security concerns, after they became involved in heated confrontations with Trump’s supporters. Whatever one may think of Trump’s policies, there is no excuse for preventing the candidate from expressing them at a political rally. They abridged both Trump’s right to free expression and the ability of thousands of their fellow citizens to participate in the political process.

MoveOn thanked the disruptors for their actions.

Nor have such repressive actions been confined to Trump rallies: Clinton events have been regularly targeted as well, most recently in Philadelphia, where Black Lives Matter activists engaged in a lengthy confrontation with former President Bill Clinton, repeatedly shouting over his attempts to engage them in substantive discussion.

TRANSCRIPT: HILLARY CLINTON MEETS WITH THE DAILY NEWS EDITORIAL BOARD

These tactics have been on clearest display in the context of the debate surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In January, for example, far-left activists organized by BLM shut down an LGBTQ conference in Chicago by storming the event, and denying the speakers the opportunity to address the crowd, by chanting “occupy, occupy” and “no justice, no peace.” While protests are a legitimate part of the political process, disruptive efforts to shut down speakers are not.

Disruptive tactics have gone hand in hand with other initiatives designed to silence pro-Israel voices. CodePink, many of the leaders of Black Lives Matter, and a host of other organizations have endorsed or cooperated with the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. Among other measures, BDS calls for the boycott of Israeli cultural and academic institutions, as well as for “common sense” boycotts of individuals and organizations that are too supportive of Israel.

Sanders himself has contributed to anti-Israel defamation: In his interview with the editorial board of the New York Daily News, he suggested that 10,000 civilians had been killed in Gaza by Israel during Operation Protective Edge. The truth is that somewhere between 600 and 1,500 civilians — many of whom were used as human shields by Hamas — were killed in a legitimate military effort to protect Israeli civilians, despite Israeli efforts to minimize civilian casualties. Such woeful misrepresentations serve to justify and encourage the repressive bigotry that has become the staple of anti-Israel, left-wing activists.

On university campuses, repressives have justified silencing dissent using “safe space” language, arguing that students should not be exposed to ideas or historical facts that they find threatening. This demonstrates a profoundly warped conception of free speech that seems to reflect the maxim “free speech for me, but not for thee.”

We know that these repressives support Bernie. We need to know whether he supports them.

Dershowitz is an emeritus professor at Harvard Law School and author of“Taking the Stand: My Life in the Law.”

moral narcissism describes explains virtually the entire left. Its either the cronies putting out the spin or the drones being MN.

it explains why there is only one lefty here who even tries to go more than one post deeper in support to their position.

The left's pattern.. Moral Narcissist statement. One post to support... usually a specious point article from salon or some wacky econ or weather model... and then they disengage. Even though they are completely demolished by facts... they will make the same MN lie of statement again and again. and then other leftist MNers will give them the thumbs up.
