  1. "To defend your person, you need a hand gun.
To defend your home, you need a shotgun or carbine.
To defend your liberty, you need a battle rifle"

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but if someone has control of the government, even "falsely" whatever that means these days, they still have access to more guns and soldiers than you and you've got no chance.

Most likely illegal, but before that gun was illegal it was owned by a legal gun owner.Ive stated in the past it is too easy for irresponsible people to get guns.I've stated in the past we need laws that make gun owners take full responsibility for whatever damage thier gun does.Gun owners should have to register thier guns with the ATF and once a year bring those guns to The ATF to confirm they still are in possession of them.If any of thier guns are missing they should lose thier right to own any gun for 5 years, second time lifetime ban.

If a gun a legal gun owner bought ends up in the hands of a criminal that gun owner should be civilly responsible for the damage that gun did, lifetime ban and I would even support criminal penalties.Conservatives will never go for this though. If thier gun ends up in the hands of a criminal so be it to them, they can just easily by another.Republicans don't even support background checks.Last I checked private and gun show sales without a background check was still legal allowing people like yesterdays shooter to by a gun from a classified ad in a wal mart parking lot.

We also need to make guns more expensive with a huge gun sale tax, that would make people more likely to secure thier guns. The average hand guns only costing 300-500 dollars to replace make people who aren't poor more careless with them because they don't cost much to replace, and as stated lawfully easy to replace.

    False.

Even most police are scared to engage with a shooter one on one.The cop in the Florida school shooting went the other way when he heard the gun shots and 15 cops were scared shitliss against 1 shooter in Uvalde.

Other first world countries don't have as many people who carry or guns in circulation as The US,yet they have far less of these incidents.

There's a lot in this. First, you're correct, lots of Republicans don't support background checks. But there are a lot that do. Many states require the sale of a gun to have a background check, and some do not. Of those that do, despite requirements, they don't enforce it (which is the same as simply not requiring it). All firearm sales and transfers should be done via an FFL. Period.

But holding people responsible - criminally - for legitimate theft that occurs to their firearms isn't fair, in my opinion. If I secure my firearm in my safe, which is bolted to the ground, and somehow someone manages to get a hold of it, I shouldn't be held accountable unless I don't report the theft immediately.

True and also most gun deaths are by suicide not homicide. When accounting for population growth, gun deaths even with mass shootings have declined.

Personally, I think gun ownership should be regulated like cars. Training, testing, registration and insurance required.

    The 1700's reality isn't 21st century reality.

On another note, went to the DaVinci exhibit currently touring. He is credited for creating the first "machine gun." In fact, he has a large number of inventions related to warfare, including "robot solders" and many designs for warships. Those commissions were a large part of his bread and butter even though he did not enjoy that work as much as his other interests. He also had invented a crossbow with a reload lever action that the Winchester rifle "that won the west" drew inspiration from.
