If you use the search button you will probably finder over 50 pages dedicated to calculation of the A and C values. The search function is one of the strengths of ET, it actually works pretty well. It's not a one line answer which is why I'm not just telling you, you have to read through all the discussions about it to understand it.

Mav quick question can you get confirmation on negative number lines, also does confirmation only apply when Nls are postive. if conformation does occur on negative Nls is it something to watch for ?

Yes, confirmations work in both directions. And yes, you should watch for them. Again, think about the big picture. Too many people on ET I've noticed are so overly concerned with "signals" and "triggers". Whether someone is trying to call a top or a bottom or using some BS support or resistance level. Markets are living breathing things. They are organic. Markets operate in environments. Think about what the number line is actually communicating to you. What does it say about the "condition" of the market. What do A levels say about the "condition" of the market. What is volatility saying about the "condition" of the market. What is volume saying about the "condition" of the market. Too many people on here are losing sight of the forest to focus on the trees.

  10. Hello Mav,

Just a newbie collecting and looking at data. There are a number of columns that continue to the right that I had to chop off that include daily and 30 day volume, the three number lines and the Mav Volatility Index.
