It's the weekend, so I'm back tinkering with some information I've been able to get on the web regarding DDE, (the transfer protocol, not a ticker). Has anyone used DDE to connect think or swim directly to excel or access? I used to be an access nut in my former life as an IT guy and would love to get a live feed from TOS to access. I've been somewhat unsatisfied with the scans in TOS and SQL via access would really open up my choices, (just code them myself using SQL and joins etc based on how the data comes from TOS). Anyway, just wondering if anyone's done anything like this. Think it'd be nice to have some live data feeding you query results of everything that's for instance above the three day pivot and at/near the daily A up. Also think it'd be neat to run some daily reports on number lines, maybe including some number line charts? Thanks in advance if anyone has any leads here.
Hey Ev, Yea i've done some DDE links from TOS to Excel. Its rather easy to do that : http://readtheprospectus.wordpress....or-swim-for-streaming-real-time-calculations/ I linked some watchlists in for stocks in the major ETF's. I think I mentioned this to you once. I'm sure you'll be able to do much of what you are attmepting to
Here's the spreadsheet that I did up a while back. Was looking to aggregate relative volume for holdings within etf's to get an idea of what is in play everyday
Shan, perfect man, exactly what I was thinking/looking for. I do remember you mentioning this now that you remind me. Thanks a ton, hope you're having a great weekend so far.
Thanks all for the feedback. I've Reset my charts, and plan to only take the best trades this week, but plan to find as many opportunities as possible and trade the odds. Still working through the thread, but there is some excellent info there - thanks to everyone who has contributed.
Can someone shed some light on this for me, I signed up for the free trial at MB and looking over their A and C values for CL I see they have a 8 tick value for A and 13 for C they also use a 45 minute OR. How is that possible my daily ATR for CL is at $2.30 if we take 20% of that we get 46 ticks, am I missing something here? Another question I have was regarding the OR time to use. I know Fisher states that you should use the domicile opening for each trading product but I've found that the most volatile time and where a majority of volume is being traded is at the stock market open. What are your thoughts on using that as a standard OR for all products?
Corn, beans and wheat all about to go limit again. There is pretty much nothing but air above these levels.
