The ACD Method

  1. You have a certain disdain for" home gamers" that is palpable. Perhaps, if you expanded your view of what a "trader" is, you would have more than two consistent respondents to this thread.

As one of those "home gamers" whom you believe do not exist, I can tell you that it would spread the message better, and ACD is a message worth spreading.:)

What the hell are you talking about? What disdain for home gamers? Dude, this thread is 1000 pages long. This makes no sense. Seriously, I chat with a lot of guys privately from this thread and speak to many of them in person and on the phone. That comment from you was completely out of left field. This isn't P&R man, keep that shit in the basement. Seriously.

Sorry about that rant guys. Back to trading...

So far no intra-day A downs in the indices. Russell holding up the best.

Not much volume really either considering the break of "traditional" support here on the S&P, DJIA, and Nasdaq.

... that is, if volume even really matters any more...

  5. I may be incorrect, of course, Mav. But I see the same two or three names posting day in and day out on this thread. A simple post count will verify that. There is not a lot of diverse posting on this thread, and that is my point.

If cannot dispute if you talk to people on the phone about ACD or not. It is not rocket science, but if that is what they do, then it is good that you contribute a service, but do look back over the last 100 posts and see if you can spot ten different handles posting on this thread. I have seen no more than four.

Ron, that is because most of these guys have told me in private either they don't trade, they are not profitable or they don't know how to contribute. I'm not sure why so many guys PM me vs posting directly on the thread. But we have a chat room outside this thread as well. It's not my intention to have so much communication outside this thread as it's 100 times easier for me to communicate on here as I don't have to repeat my thoughts on 10 different platforms.

i am enjoying this thread but like elliot wave, i haven't bothered to learn acd, afraid it will damage or dilute my confidence in what i am already using, that's not a knock on mav or the 4 posters you have mentioned,he seems admirably humble for the knowledge he's holding, with or without it

  8. That's fair enuf John, but ACD is not difficult, if you have a system. I think it would be a service for ET for you to encourage some of these guys to stop being lurkers and start posting levels, no matter how rudimentary. Push em out there, John!

That said, this thread was the final pivot point for me, and for that, no matter our politics, I will shake your hand in public, and call you friend. Hamilton and Jefferson would have done that, right?:)

So I type up here to entreat and encourage. I do separate the outside world from the basement. You do a great service here, and your initial post sometime back gave me confirmation on my long dollar trade. I thank you for that.

  9. if you are interested in ACD style you can look at his videos, Fish is a great trader. I personally think you get more out of the videos because you see the philosophy in terms of price action and risk management. Look everyone has a system whether they know it or not, everyone gets what they want out of the market, for some its a house on the beach and for others its a lifelong gambling addiction, to each his own.

Ron, I have "pushed" people to come out and post. The problem is, and I'm not trying to insult anyone here, but if you don't actually trade, it's hard to post. I always encourage people to ask questions and I encourage people to even post trade ideas or even investment ideas. I'll be happy to post the levels for any ideas people have. But like the old saying goes, "you can lead a horse to the creek but you can't make him drink the water."
