This is basically what we are dealing with today folks. These are the 9 SPY select sector ETF's. It's a good way to get a quick look at the price action and break everything down and see what is doing what. As you can see, only energy confirmed an A down today. All the other sectors failed at the A ups and A downs. Directionless market.
Tech is really weak today across the board. Might be options related, who knows. But the big tech names are getting sold.
Flip - Do you have a link by chance on CME that describes the 11/17-11/18 liquidations? Pretty good volume and very sloppy selling in some of the softs today, probably worth a look on any reversal if the selling was artificial. Thanks
Yeah they were On another note Mav I had someone go thru this thread and consolidate down the pertinent info (posts) into word You want a copy â pm me an email and Iâll send it to you This thread is one of the good ones Sir (Thanks to many) RN
Wow, that's it then huh? Man, I was looking at my screens this week thinking "where the hell is this coming from?" Mav said it looked like some forced liquidation, nice to have some confirmation of that.
Regarding this Iâve received a couple of PMâs requesting these notes They are Mavâs notes, not mine â you want em â ask him I believe I help on this forum, in other areas, alreadyâ¦, Iâm not going to become anyoneâs stenogopher to boot Next someone will be asking me to enter and exit for them No Thanks ===================================================================== Imo there are two stellar tech threads going â this oneâ¦, and Simplicity in TA Dig into themâ¦, tear em apartâ¦, and learn both Do that, youâll have a workingâ¦, profitable approachâ¦. (but then these are a dime a dozen) Just realize after youâve worked through them and got itâ¦, you still have the internal education to learn (hardest of all, not in my opinionâ¦, but from my experience) ===================================================================== In the end, it all still boils down to this; KISS Lose small Let winners run Pour on the wood when youâre right Remain disciplined, patient, open and unbiased, and humble throughout your career No one knows what the hell is going to happen next Wash, Rinse, Repeat â until the day you retire from trading First lesson - learn to do the necessary work RN
RN, thanks for the notes. There really is a lot of material on this thread. I also completely respect your stance on intellectual property. That is VERY rare these days. I had a rather lengthy thread similar to this one on rape reading listed stocks several years back. And someone told me that some prop firm actually copied all the notes from that thread and gave it to their new recruits to learn tape reading. I had mixed feelings about that. At the end of the day I contribute openly here knowing it's public domain. I think knowledge should be shared and perhaps the karma will come back to me at some point in my life. God knows I've built up enough credits! It's also very encouraging to hear so many people tell me that this is one of the best threads on ET. I'll do my best to keep the content high quality here. I also encourage the lurkers to jump in and get involved. My biggest regret as a young student in school was not asking more questions. And like your teachers always use to tell you, if you have a question, everyone else probably has the same question as well.
