I think it does work well for swing trading. I was referring to daytrading. CL is also great for swing trading but terrible for daytrading. They are just very crowded trades.

  2. Some instruments I've just never had good trades with, like ZC, ZS, ZW, to the point I've stopped trading them.

GC is a bit of a mixed bag for me, more joy with SI, all swing trades.

I don't think you have enough sample size to write those off. I find ags to be more sane than metals and of the metals I prefer SI or HG. GC is schitzo unless there's big money piling in.

Of all I think all should be swung. GC is a spoof shithole for intraday.

  4. That may well be true, I haven't put in that many trades. If I wanted to make a decent go of the ags I'd need to pay more attention to the reports for sure, which I don't have the time to do now.

  5. I don't daytrade but if I was to try gc would be my first attempt. It has by far the least random distribution of price extremes throughout the day of markets I have analysed so far. Cl is the most random. But again I don't daytrade so I haven't looked too hard at it.

IMO heavy influence from EUR and GBP. It's no mystery why we see a desc wedge on DX and an asc wedge on 6E. The results of the French election will certainly remove some uncertainty but beware of hopping on early in a consensus trade if it starts looking that way. You know how these markets work.

  8. Yes, I'm always wary of fakeouts. I have a short entry flagged for USDCAD but I'm a little wary about that because of the spat over lumber and dairy. Some strength in oil would give me confidence, so I don't think I'll be early to that party.

Macron wins, as expected....will be interesting to see if we will get continued buying or 'sell the news'.

  10. My thought too. The runup in the Euro and the DAX, Stoxx and CAC since round 1 has been pretty amazing. You'd think people doubted Macron's win.
