It is nothing in a product that has a $2 to $2.50 daily range. If you are daytrading it, fine. But for a swing trader who on avg uses 1 to 1.5 ATRs as a stop, that range will eat you alive. Has nothing to do with prediction.

And also, point me to the predictions on this thread. Nobody here is making "predictions". Well, maybe some are, but that is not what this thread is about. I comment on volatility, not future predictions. At least for the last 1200 or so pages.

You can see it in the currencies as well. I primarily trade EUR and AUD. No discernible trend. Even 15 min time frames are being shut off. It got so bad I stopped trading till DB started affecting things. Even there it was hard to get any follow through to the downside.

kind of an odd generalization. how about we generalize day traders. considering the old saying that "90% of them lose money", what would you say the returns of a "day" trader are?

    Hey guys,

I am plotting these NL by hand and want to know where to ask/pay people to write a code/algo for ToS to automatically calculate the number line? Not really good with coding and dont want to be swindled. Any recommendations on writers, forums, or site to request such a job?

    Thanks

I've had the dollar confirmed positive against most of the majors for a bit now, file this in the "not obvious" category. Showing some signs of life today. The opposite holds true for gold and silver, which are breaking down today. Also Corn confirmed last month and has been showing strength lately so I've had my eye on that too.

Regarding automating the scoring, I'm curious what guys have to say about it. From the archives I recall Mav stating that doing it by hand is superior because it allows for "marginal analysis" that couldn't be done by a script. So what is the verdict? Does the added info from being able to track thousands of products and go back years in historical testing outweigh any decline in the quality of scoring? I assume that at least in equities the answer is yes due to Mav's internals the he mentions from time to time.

most recent update is that he has automated them and divides these NLs for stocks in certain groups and sectors to assess their strength and weaknesses. that's why I wanted to automate them as well...scoring them by hand is really tedious.
