My own family has a tradition of keeping diaries that are stored and unsealed after a period, much like national archives. You should read through it as well. If your predictions had been correct, if Obama’s second term had led to economic disaster, then this would be a different conversation. But that didn’t quite happen. His policies ultimately paved the way for Trump, whose presidency brought its own set of figures, 666 perhaps one of them, but economically, Obama’s numbers were hard to argue with. The fears you had at the time didn’t materialize. I get that reflecting on past views isn’t always comfortable. That’s par for the course. The biggest awakening on that post for me was to not let my life be ruled by politics. I realized how poisonous politics was.
