Trump has no plan to leave. As a narcissist he will weight it and ultimately decide he just has to stay. Vance has to poison him, literally or metaphorically.

Biden didn't outright ignore the Supreme Court ruling on student debt, rather his administration sought an alternative legal pathway to achieve similar debt relief after the SC struck down his first attempt.

The original plan was based on the HEROES Act, which the Court ruled did not grant the authority to cancel student loans on such a broad scale. In response, the Biden administration pivoted to using the Higher Education Act of 1965, which has a separate provision allowing for debt forgiveness through a rule-making process. That process takes longer and follows administrative law procedures, meaning it’s not an outright defiance of the Court but rather a legal workaround.

So while critics might call it an attempt to subvert the ruling, it's not the same as outright ignoring it. It's more of a strategic adaptation, trying to achieve the same goal through a different legal justification.

We are about to see outright ignoring federal judges. Interesting times. One of my employees a few years back worked for the Giulliani admin. A colleague of hers committed suicide under the pressure of being told to just ignore state court orders, a very Rudy tactic. The man was made into cannon fodder by America's mayor.

Fair point. Let's just imagine I was being generous instead of ignorant of the particulars.

Indeed, I did have to look things up as it seemed too good to be true for MAGA :) Who are of course, in the process of creating false history to justify what they are about to do.

Trump orders U.S. to prioritize refugee resettlement of South Africans of European descent
    By Camilo Montoya-Galvez
President Trump on Friday directed government officials to prioritize the resettlement of South Africans of European descent through the U.S. refugee program, which he suspended during his first day in office.
In an executive order, Mr. Trump accused the South African government of discriminating against Afrikaners, an ethnic group in South Africa made up of descendants of European colonists, mostly from the Netherlands, who first arrived there in the 1600s.

Until the 1990s, White South Africans of European descent ruled South Africa, enforcing the brutal system of apartheid against the country's Black majority.

But Mr. Trump alleged in his order that White South Africans are now the targets of oppression by the country's government, citing a law that U.S. conservatives like Trump adviser and billionaire Elon Musk have said allow racially motivated seizures of land owned by White South Africans. Musk was born in South Africa.

As for unconstitutional, figured you would go narrow and miss the big picture:

Because Congress established USAID as an independent establishment (defined in 5 U.S.C. 104) within the executive branch, the President does not have the authority to abolish it; congressional authorization would be required to abolish, move, or consolidate USAID. The Secretary of State established USAID as directed by Executive Order 10973, signed on November 3, 1961. The agency was meant to implement components of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (FAA, P.L. 87-195), enacted on September 4, 1961. Section 1413 of the Foreign Affairs Reform and Restructuring Act of 1998, Division G of P.L. 105-277, established USAID as an “independent establishment” outside of the State Department (22 U.S.C. 6563). In that act, Congress provided the President with temporary authority to reorganize the agency (22 U.S.C. 6601). President Clinton retained the status of USAID as an independent entity, and the authority to reorganize expired in 1999. Congress has not granted the President further authority to abolish, move, or consolidate USAID since.

Congress appropriates funds for USAID programs and operations in annual SFOPS appropriations; nearly all USAID programs are authorized through the FAA, as amended. If an Administration seeks to use appropriated funds for purposes not articulated, or in different amounts from what was previously justified for that fiscal year, including the transfer of funds between agencies, the Administration is required to notify Congress prior to taking the proposed action pursuant to provisions in the SFOPS appropriation (Division F of P.L. 118-47) and FAA.

Dont try and defend musk as "saving taxpayer money" This could have been done by simply using existing functions to audit spending. trump did not do that. he appointed musk to go after USAID, DOE and DoD and access classified information which he has no right to access.

    PERIOD.

You are on an island here so just enjoy the beach. You cannot justify the actions which as indicated above are uncosntitutional (when a president takes actions that violate separation of power procedures it is unconstitutional) and musk has a huge conflcit of interest that was never addressed.

    So there....

  8. With this in mind, Fox News’ Bret Baier asked the president, “Do you view Vice President JD Vance as your successor, the Republican nominee in 2028?”

"No,” the president said, quickly adding, “but he’s very capable.”

That was a quick no vote of confidence haha

One question I have, what money is Musk going to spend to package out the federal workers? If it's not his own then whose? He can't spend taxpayer money, he's not in Congress or even government, right?

  10. Trump cannot promise severance if not budgeted unless he takes hundreds of millions from other funds obligated by Congress. We told several people do not take it...you resign and they say we cannot pay severance...you already resigned and are gone..good luck suing.
