Thanks for posting this. I didn't see Musk's tweet or JD's, I'll have to go look for it. Maybe your twitter feed is tailored to a Trump supporter? Nothing wrong with that, just saying. I don't follow Trump, Vance or Musk on Twitter. But I'll go looking for it. Edit: Is this the one?
no no i not taking a shot. I mean it. all of our feeds are different depending on what we search, read, google. No shots my brother. I enjoy your commentary and would never disrespect you.
I think this would be the first time in history and mind you many presidents have duked it out with the judicial system. but non have ever defied or been in contempt. .
You'd be surprised, but I don't have a lot of politics in my feed at all. I come here for that. It's poison, and all you have to do is look at people like GWB or others here to see how it poisons them. The anger, vitriol and hate they spew. No thanks, man. A long time ago I let politics rule my life, despite it really having no real-world impact on my life. No more.
That was the supreme court. It went to a lower court originally (just like this) and was ignored for a bit before the Biden administration appealed it. Kinda like this. It's true that the Biden administration has taken steps to reduce payments for citizens with student debt despite a Supreme Court ruling voting against a much wider plan in June 2023. What you're saying is Trump is ignoring it now (the judge is saying this), but is he ignoring it? Is he stalling? He filed an appeal, which you wouldn't do if you're planning on just ignoring the ruling. There's a lot of nuance here, and I'm not sure you're fairly applying it to both instances. But I will agree 100% that a President should not be able to ignore a federal judge's rule.
Trump is using the cover of waste to install a dictatorship where the US is run by him as emperor and industry kings in a super-fascist state. Its the old a little bit dead, pregnant or fascist. The playbook is well-worn, invoke crisis, claim only a strong leader can fix it, reframe opposition as enemies of the state, and hollow out institutions that provide checks on power. Then wrap power grabs in patriotic rhetoric, "Only I can save you", frame dissent as treason and dismantle anti-tyranny balances and independent players, also under the guise of efficiency. Once entrenched, these changes don’t reverse. The U.S. system was designed with some resilience, but it’s also reliant on norms, and those are screwed. What’s striking is how many people are either blind to it, indifferent, or actively cheering it on.
