If you cant even quantify how you draw them, JH has a system to draw them with a degree of consistency, I cant advocate fully as I am unsure about the first stage, but I imagine one that needs to know will seek. Or, cant you take the highest high and the lowest low have the program draw a line and find out where price is mostly deviated from that line. Im not sure if that would be the second highest high. you would have to check. I shyed away from it out of intuition as some times the line drawn may need future price, you can use it just be careful. I know my limits. experts practice for 10,000 hours. But again they also do alot of other things. I fail to see the connection between the hours and becoming a professional. Am I misunderstanding or does any one else see that a connection is not yet made between the two?
There is a connection. The statement has the word "purposeful" in it. Most people get excluded completely because of this. My first 40 days were of varying lengths. 15 to 20 minutes for briefest days and up to 6 hours for a full day. I was only making 10% every 6 to 8 days after the first 20 days. Here in ET there are people who refer to me to make points in the sector where they are trying to make points. They keep defeating themselves by this personal distraction they have.
haha personally, I don't draw anything on the charts to define trends or pullbacks. Simple price action definitions are sufficiently robust without the headfakes inherent with trendlines and averages. Iow, what did the trend do last time? It's impossible to know if the current trend will continue on to new extremes, or if it will reverse on the next pullback. All we can do is trade accordingly and have a stop set at the logical place it reverses? That's basically all I do.
I hope the 10% wasn't as painful to take then as it may be today. I guess that is the benefit of starting, little wins are appreciated. with time small numbers are a wast. That being said, with out distraction what do really have ? We have a fine tuned machine that has not looked at the markets. Then again some may be better off never looking at the market. Now they ask you what kind of hours you spent, you explain and they look blankly and ask you "purposeful" or "unpurposeful". Reluctantly you answer boxing yourself. Luckily they do not understand you comment you make beneath your breath. Now, naturally since they are there they will ask other questions. Breakfast they ask and you say "froot loops." Next to be surveyed is me and Froot Loops is used to make sure I have a breakfast and the benefits out weigh the negative. I quote the 10k hours. Naturally, I say purposeful. And well professional ? I fit the criteria because the formulae looks at various ideas. I score week on communicating ideas with punctuation. But behaving in a civil manner I score high as I do not loose my tempure. In the end the results are in 10,000 hours on the dot ! Math is great, at the expense of one looking to program a channel and giving up on the 9950th hour. It's all details, the real failure is clear to traders it is a demon we all had. We can now at least come up with a number and say that our sample is small but fare. Preliminary results indicate that one should work 10,000 hours, but not over 28,000. Removing a bias usually effects profits I guess. Personally I plan to do the 10,000 hours, if I have not yet. but I pace myself to not go too high. I just hope posting on the site goes towards un purposeful hours. If not I may have passed optimal levels. But I gauge this through my misspelled words. and posts that run on. Once people start to understand my posts, I know I may becoming more secretary then professional. But just in case I stay behind you in post numbers. Naturally I am exaggerating, I did not make the rules, but if it was all true Reffering to your post numbers would indicate the minimal leeway I have before I reach un optimal levels. They had their own plans and used parts of the groups data against others. Members did not realize how often ones data set crossed the others. to keep it concealed the data was not exact. it was from another detector or point of view. but they could run their math and see if there was weakness in redundancy, I guess they could use math.
