Satan behind media attacks on the Pope, asserts Italian exorcist

Rome, Italy, Mar 31, 2010 / 11:47 am (CNA).- Noted Italian exorcist Father Gabriele Amorth, commented this week that the recent defamatory reporting on Pope Benedict XVI, especially by the New York Times, was “prompted by the devil.”

Speaking to News Mediaset in Italy, the 85-year-old exorcist noted that the devil is behind “the recent attacks on Pope Benedict XVI regarding some pedophilia cases.”

“There is no doubt about it. Because he is a marvelous Pope and worthy successor to John Paul II, it is clear that the devil wants to ‘grab hold’ of him.”

Father Amorth added that in instances of sexual abuse committed by some members of the clergy, the devil “uses” priests in order to cast blame upon the entire Church: “The devil wants the death of the Church because she is the mother of all the saints.”

“He combats the Church through the men of the Church, but he can do nothing to the Church.”

The exorcist went on to note that Satan tempts holy men, “and so we should not be surprised if priests too … fall into temptation. They also live in the world and can fall like men of the world.”

 

Thats the problem with you atheists...you still think of Satan as some red colored being with horns and a pitchfork.

Jesus once called Peter "satan" in mark 8:33. You must notice that there is a lot of effort to demonize the church with this whole pedophilia scandal, but how come the media doesnt demonize homosexuals? How come the media doesnt put as much media attention in other areas where children are molested?

The US dept of education says that 9.6% of children are targets of educator sexual misconduct sometime during their school career. About 28% of those cases are done by homosexuals. So homosexuals are about 2% of the population, yet they are 28% of all the cases of sexual misconduct. What does that tell you about homosexuals and their morality? Yet so many people want to look at them as if they are normal and when they do something like molest a child, they dont see them as a homosexual that did it...they look at them as their job that did it. Like they will say "a priest molested a child" Or a "teacher" molested that child. They NEVER say a homosexual molested the child even though homosexuals ARE the problem...not priests,not teachers. So what makes people target the church and not the schools? Satan/evil/malevolence...call it what you will,but that is what is causing it.

 

By your logic we should criticize men when these deviant acts come to light, as they are responsible for what, 98% of them?

 

It's actually 10-20% women (sexual offenses committed by adults with child victims), not 2%. Yes of course we should look more to men to be sexual predators, as there are very cogent biological and genetic reason why they are significantly more inclined towards such behavior than women.

 

Because they are homosexuals. Just look at msnbc.
