  1. Department of Agriculture, for listing your contingency plans on your website. You have so kindly linked these PDFs to a site that you say is "Shut Down." Obviously you have enough money to run your servers to tell us the site is shutdown but not enough to make the PDFs available?

FYI, Crop Reports will not be released during the shutdown. The next one is scheduled for the 11th.

The goal is to make the government shutdown look as impactful as possible. They are hoping to avoid the repeat of the sequester, where government spending was cut by xx% and nobody really noticed (despite their attempts to make the cuts as visible as possible).

With any luck, the shutdown will move forward just like the sequester, and no one will particularly care for another month.

LOL. It takes more "work"( and funding ) to create a page with this message than to let the website open with no update.

You have aptly described a government agency's thinking.

nobody seem to think this shutdown can get truly serious.

if army and police miss single pay, it is a big thing in any language.
