The teachers union has more power than it did 30 years ago, and look where it has gotten us, we spend more money per student than any nation in the world and we rank terribly in terms of education. And the unions dont even work for the little guy anymore either, they are now dedicated to the guy on top as well. Good example is like in New Jersey, where the teachers union preferred to layoff a bunch of new teachers rather than forgo a 5.5% pay raise for the ones on top, in a time when people all over the country were losing their jobs. The liberal teachers unions have absolutely destroyed the education system, there is no question about that.
