  1. How did you guys do today?

I kinda wish I would have kept trading. Great volatility.

  7. Great journal. I look forward to seeing your daily recap.
One question. How did you choose your tick size for your charts? Do you use the smaller tick chart for your entry and the larger to manage positions? Or something like that? I guess that's more than one question.
    Keep up the great work.

  8. I can't say for sure how I decided on the tick size for my charts. I've tried everything from a 2 range chart, to 4hour charts. I suppose it comes down to finding the right time frame to fit your own personality and trading style. Mainly personality, because your trading style should fit personality as well.

I continually monitor several timeframes to keep a 3D view on the market. Sometimes I choose to be "dumb" and only watch my main trading timeframe while I'm in a position, as to not get distracted by possible noise. But at that time I'm already well aware of the market structure on the longer timeframe, and have a plan for managing the trade.

  9. Looking at the markets today, looks like there was some potential (easy to say in hidsight of course). It was nice to get out on the golf course, although I didn't shoot that good of a round... still love being out there.

Hope everyone killed it. Enjoy the weekend.

OH, I wanted to share something too... I came across this guy talking about trading stuff. Something that really stood out for me was how he said trading DOESN'T take discipline. He said if you really LOVE trading, it doesn't. Does it take discipline to provide for your children? Does it take discipline to go to the golf course if you love golf? No.

He says it's all about the love. All you need is to know when you'll get in & get out, and love doing this work. (He also made a reference to the importance of REALLY thinking of trading as work, to make sure you don't have some psychological issue about not deserving the money that consistent trading can bring you).

    Just thought I'd share.

  10. I'll be posting a "hindsight" review video shortly. It's something I always do when I don't trade a day, and it might help you guys see how I analyze charts.
