I'm sure his family knows never to bring up certain topics around him. I'd note that his son went to college out of state despite California having numerous decent schools to choose from.
My son was accepted and enrolled in a U.C. Then they told us via email that they may be allowed out of their rooms to go to the dining hall but they would have to eat dinner in their rooms. Plus... there were no in person classes. This son is a very social kid. My wife was concerned that living in a CA gulag with people like you who would karen the others who wanted to live.... was going to be miserable for him and who knows what he would turn to for fun. So I called Baylor and asked if the scholarship money was still on the table and if he was still allowed to enroll 1 week before classes began. They said yes. He is off the charts happy in Texas.
I love California... I like the people a lot too. There are few paid lefty trolls like the assholes on ET in real life. Therefore, in my life I am in the middle. There are govt workers who support big govt. There are people who even wear masks outdoors... But... they are less than 50% around here... now. Half the hispanics I know and I know a lot from baseball and where I live...were vocal in support of Trump. (I was not a big fan of Trump that is why they kept bringing it up to have fun with me. Many on the left forget that many hispanics are business owners and religious. They are not a monolithic group. My good friend's wife is 2nd gen and you would never know it. I did not for years. ) And there are also many people more conservative people of all backgrounds than I am. As a libertarian who believes in people rights I am on the opposite side of some of my friends... who are much more law an order types. Some are law enforcement and D.A. types . Finally you all don't seem to understand San Diego and Orange County CA were red... until recently.
Oh Oh. What's the matter with those folks? I thought kids in dog kennels was very popular there considering how close San Diego is to the Border.
The COVID-19 Disaster That Did Not Happen in Texas Cases are rising mainly in states with stricter disease control policies. JACOB SULLUM | 4.21.2021 12:01 AM https://reason.com/2021/04/21/the-covid-19-disaster-that-did-not-happen-in-texas/ When Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, lifted his statewide face mask mandate and his limits on business occupancy in early March, Democrats warned that he was inviting a public health disaster. Yet a month and a half later, newly identified coronavirus cases in Texas have fallen by more than 50 percent, and daily deaths have dropped even more. Meanwhile, states with stricter COVID-19 regulations have seen spikes in daily new cases. This is not the pattern you would expect to see if government-imposed restrictions played a crucial role in curtailing the pandemic, as advocates of those policies assume. Abbott's critics did not mince words. President Joe Biden said the governor's decision reflected "Neanderthal thinking." Gilberto Hinojosa, chairman of the Texas Democratic Party, said it was "extraordinarily dangerous" and "will kill Texans." One reason those dark prophecies have not come true: The practical impact of Abbott's changes was much less significant than his detractors implied. .... more at link...
