She was warned repeatedly. Yea being tased is dangerous. So is stumbling onto the interstate in a struggle. Or as in Chicago a few months back when a homeless woman grabbed a Chicago policeman's gun during an arrest and killed him! http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=news/local&id=6240518 My dad's motto when he was a cop was "I'm not paid to fight. That's why I'm armed" Meaning: He had a teachers certificate and could have been teaching English for more money than he was being paid as a cop. He didn't look upon being killed by some asshole as commiserate with the pay. Especially after being wounded in World War ll. As a drug agent in Chicago a Mexican knocked his tooth out and my dad beat the guy to death. Like he says, hates fighting.
True, the cop would be running the risk of being accused of using excessive force if he used muscle to subdue her and she were injured but in using a taser he was definitely using excessive force. She doesn't have the right to resist arrest and can expect repercussions but let's put a reasonable limit on those repercussions. Granny was'nt "every lawbreaker" and was never remotely likely to shoot the cop in the head. She didn't offer any excuses - just plain and simple cantankerous resistance coupled with a dare to hit an old lady (which backfired). Nevertheless tasing grandma is risking her life and that's disproportionate. The cop was wrong. The old lady was wrong too but her being wrong didn't hurt the cop - didn't even remotely threaten him. Shiiit.. the cop could have cuffed her without even putting her on the ground. He benches 400; she can't bench the empty bar.
that's just wrong - that cop was trigger happy you could tell it. it came out that he was a taser instructor and so he was just itching to use that taser. he should be prosecuted!
I dont get this; they say it will cause paralysis, instant convulsions, etc, releasing of bowels, and it does. I know to, and its a big enough deal! So how is it, i've seen footage on "cops" etc, of a guy running away, no shirt on, tazed a few times right on the back, and just flinches/jumps a little and keeps running?
I don't know exactly why they can continue running. I can say from personal experience it just sort of hurts and causes your muscles to tense up. When I got tased I was not trying to fight it off but I think if I wanted to, I probably could have. Certainly these guys on Cops are usually high on meth or something so maybe they are just so out of their minds it does not bother them.
Man, EVERY day you prove to the rest of ET that you are without a doubt, the dumbest guy on the board. Do you really think that the Sgt. Major is going to admit that the officer acted "inappropriately" and have that used against the police department and township during a lawsuit? Shocker, he defended his officer! Who would have thought??? You once again prove to be the dullest "bulb" on the board. But then again, that's pretty easy for you!
The biggest wannabe trader on the site once again resorts to lowlife insults to try to boost his own self esteem. The fact is, you have no valid argument on this or anything else you post BS about. Why don't you move out of mom's basement, go get a job and do something with your life. Loser.
You wrote it to read that you dad killed the man in revenge for knocking out his tooth. Surely that isn't why he killed the man is it? Or the did the Mexican die while your dad was defending himself, big difference. The first case is murder the second is justified. Couldn't you of taken care of the situation with more skill than the constable did and gotten the lady to sign the ticket without any drama or violence, I'm sure I could have.
