They always do...don't they? Marketchameleon(a nice site by a colleague of Mr. Morse), had it as 73% puts with that 20K in huge blocks in, the morning, taking it under $31.(I wonder why I can see your TA comment in the reply but I don't see it in the post?) On the surface, I agree, earnings weren't THAT bad, but it does have a VRX feel to it with that debt load and them mentioning possible loan covenant violations accelerated it to the downside, yesterday. Today, the government isn't happy with them wanting to cut jobs as they got $5B in tax breaks, over the years, and Och-Ziff has sued them for losses from 2014 to now. I do agree, with them, as I said before...no indication of such a deterioration in US generics in a quarter to write down $6B. Dead money for, a few quarters, IMO!
TA I'm using (Itchimoku and classic fibbo) didn't say anything negative. What's more, TEVA seemd to go up! I've also lost more than expected, and my SL was around 30.45 Next time I'll buy call instead of shares for speculation purposes.
MrScalper in another thread suggested monitoring options activities carefully prior to earning before trading.
I'm not into monitoring. I'm more into speculation with calls instead of shares. And TEVA.. even with current price it's not worth going long. We may see another VRX case - https://stokz.com/news/details/is-teva-the-next-valeant-2017-08-08,217111,company
Options volume and big block trades might give some indication of the direction if you are into speculating with calls.
Re-looked at the financial of TEVA. With reduction of dividends from $0.34 to $0.085 per quarter, they will be able to service their debt with some margins of safety. So, I took a position on TEVA today.
Good investment IMO if you have patience as it has stabilized here in the $17's. That being said, there is pressure on generics for the foreseeable future. I was right in that it had a VRX feel to it as it was $23+ when I wrote that and got crushed every after that. I think Buffett should inject $10-$15B and get a sizeable convertible. No need to fully buy them out but partake in the "US Baby Boomers" getting older over the next decade or two. He has owned JNJ and Sanofi, a few years ago, as well as another pharma, I can't remember.
fwiw.... yesterday someone bought 910 Sep 29 $17.5 Puts at the ask @ $1.051 Open interest was 16 https://www.benzinga.com/markets/op...-these-7-huge-put-purchases-in-thursday-trade
Someone knew something I didn't? OI showed 1772 this morning! Bottom fishing is dangerous to my financial health.
